Business trips

My work sent me two states over in a company car paid for my food, gas, and hotel basically just in case something goes wrong. Well nothing went wrong so I've just been walking around this giant factory doing absolutely nothing during the day and just sitting at the hotel at night. I can't believe they pay me to do this. It's not bad but I haven't smoked in 4 days and my weed withdrawls are starting. I get drenched in sweat in my sleep and have crazy ass intense dreams.
Anyone else travel for work or have some crazy stories? I'm just bored in the hotel and been browsing the shroomery for hours and decided to post.

Im actually a traveling software consultant. I travel out of state 60% of the time. I think one of my funniest (at least entertaining) is one time I was at a concert and had to catch a flight the next morning. Had all my stuff packed ready to go, knowing i was going to be drunk when i got home.
Long story short, woke up way hungover and late. rushed to the airport in my cloths that i wore at the show. Passed SFO security (both metal and xray screening) and made my way to atlanta. Well come to find out I had an un-smoked joint in my pocket the whole time.
I went through everything at the airport, not knowing this. Needless to say, I smoked that shit up in the park outside of the hotel lol.

Best business trip I ever went on was to Santa Barbara CA for 2 weeks. Flew into LAX, had a rental waiting for me, and then ended up driving up highway one along the coast for a couple of hours. I really wasn't prepared for what I was going to see.

Went through Malibu and saw all of those 50 million dollar houses along the beach and then ended up here.

Santa Barbara. I had to actually do some work but for the most part it was like an amazing vacation and getting paid for it. Wish they'd send me back but it ain't gonna happen.

Damn that would be awesome! I actually don't like traveling much it stresses me out not knowing the area that I'm going and having to meet with strangers. I just feel out of my element.
I think the worst one was my old job. I was working for a company who was working for another company working for coca Cola. They sent me to Washington DC to install equipment on vending machines. I just had a rental car and a list of addresses and had to find ending machines. Baltimore has some really bad areas and I'm a skinny white guy in a bright ass yellow shirt. Some of the machines literally were inside a cage so people didn't break into them. There was one time where I was about to open a machine and two guys just came up and stood behind me and I had to just leave before I got jumped.
Working on machines in the capital building was weird too because I had to be escorted by an armed guard.

For all of the hype Detroit gets as a rough city, Baltimore is right up there.
