yep. we're really all completely within kundalini energy all the time...the key is to take it (or allow it to go) from a dormant state to an activated state.

you gotta read books about it and stuff...i've read a few books on kundalini alone, not to mention a few books on the lives of various Buddhas and Hindu monks, and then all the various holy books and shiot.
a great place to start, as always, is Be Here Now.

No thank you. If it can't be explained in layman terms, it probably is mumbo jumbo. I think my bodily senses are more trustworthy than a book

I get other people to explain the basics to me (like anything else worth learning) and if its interesting I read up / study it.
Like I said, if it can't be explained in layman terms, it probably is mumbo jumbo.

Chakras are just energy nodes along the body. But where it gets kind of interesting is in how the body actually relates to our higher mental faculties, and not just in a physical way.
For instance, if you are constantly barging your way into situations, always trying to be the man, and way over focused on conquering women, it might be said you have an overactive second chakra, which is the sexual chakra.
Now many would say that's just a new-agey approach to psychology, but the reason it's cool is because through Yoga and meditation you find that you can actually affect your life through the chakras themselves...it's like the direct line in to your neurological computer (the spine).

These terms, or at least those not dependant on direct insight, can be explained in laymens terms--but it's much easier to say 'chakra' than to expound on the system of energy represented by the word every time you need to mention it.
Any system of knowledge will have terms not included in the laymens lexicon--this does not mean they are all mumbo-jumbo--that attitude is a good way to never learn anything again.
If you wish, single out the terms causing you confusion, and I will attempt to explain them to you in laymens terms.

No, but it is a metaphysical system, not a physical one.

Yoga is like a scientific system unto itself. and yes this can be handled terribly sometimes, but there are some Yogis who have done it really well.

Yoga isn't scientific evidence man sorry. I'm talking actual scientific data , liiiiike has anyone measued the energy that eminates from the chakras? Humans do produce energy so maybe electo magnetic energy? Anything to get actual data. Im sorry but "yoga is a scientific system unto itself" is like someone telling me all the evidence I need for god in the christian sense is in the bible.
Like any electrodes or whatever they're called hooked up to someones nipples or where the third I is though to be? Shit like that with scientific data would actually be facsinating to read imo if it exists.

Stuff like that exists--I'm pretty sure some guy in Japan has invented a machine that can record the energy levels of chakras or something. I can look it up for you if you are actually interested, but it's always struck me as pseudoscientific.

no you can't hook up electrodes to the chakras and get a reading. it totally does not work like that. i have no idea how you would even test for it since it's so spiritual, like all spiritual things you have to genuinely try it for yourself to truly learn of the validity.

Pretty much--a large portion of yogic practices is to increase your own awareness, to calm the mind, to the point where you become aware of these more subtle aspects of existence.
It's called self-discovery for a reason.
