Check it out, i found this frog the other day. In Arizona. All the descriptions seem to match it as a bufo toad. What do you think??

Amazingly enough that looks like a bufo alvarus. You are in Arizona and thus possibly in some part of the Sonoran desert. I have tried to smoke bufotenin from a bufo americanus, and this did not kill me- so rest assured. I heard it from a man that someone just like you should let loose the juice and sample a pile of the stuff (ina pipe- don't eat it- if it's bufotenin it might just kill you). I might be wrong about the ID but I'd imagine, you know?

Oh- and before I get smacked around about the issue- yes I am aware that the excretions from bufo toads are mixtures of many chemicals including adrenal toxins. They are apparently destroyed (or deminished) with heat, whereas bufotenin is not.... I think.

Definately not a Bufo alvarius ..... looks to be some relative of Bufo americanus.....maybe a Bufo bufo ......

ya, sorry dude....doesnt look like one to me. i live in southern AZ and when it rains the wash behind my house turns into toadville! you couldnt take 2 steps down that wash with out stepping on one! just one more thing to look foward to every summer....if you are in southen AZ they wont be able to hide from you for too long...keep looking my friend  :smile:
