Slow casing growth

So ive read around and a lot of people have said that after they cased it took 4-7 days to get about 20% colonized. im on day 9 an didnt see a thing. I had put about a 1inch layer of casing then waited 2-3 days and reduced it to 1/4inch just cuz i felt like 1 inch was way too much plus i kinda didnt realize the point of a casing, it didnt click til then. And so i reduced it and i hope it didnt fuck it up, but i feel like the only thing thats possible is if i did it sterile it should of only stressed the myce a little but the substrate is so colonized that im sure itll be fine. is mine just taking longer cuz im from spore inoc and those who are known cultivator probably used agar or clones and had faster colonization? my grain to grain and my colonization inside the tub with the coir substrate was super fast and right on time with multiple teks, but this one is takin a while? i used black seed starter mix. Which i know is kinda bad cuz of the dolomite. But it should break down its mg til after the flushes since its only 1month-2months... anyways. what the fuck?
crazyoutlaw said: Dam man..next time do some reading. The "A"has SEVERE overlay, which can be fixed with a clean fork and some ingenuity. However, next time your doing casings..always remember: 1.The myc shouldnt have to colonize the entire surface(overlay),just "poke"through some spots in the surface 2.When you strat seeing myc on the surface, you can just put it in the FC right away. 3.OR,you can patch the first few spots with a thin layer of sterile casing mix,and wait for more myc to start poking through. This insures an even pinset, and more a consistent flush. 4.NEVER LET THE MYC OVERLAY!!IMPORTANT IN CASING RUNS!!! Letting the lil bastards eat through the casing mix will fuck up your day,and their day!!
Also should i mist the substate any and fan? ive also read that you can put wax paper above the casing and itll help a little.

It has been two weeks since i dropped these BRF into tubs with a 80% coir 20% verm mix. And they have flourished a little but not fully colonized anything... Should i introduce these to fruiting too? or? should i give them more time. I didnt fully break up the cakes like i shouldve. And i ended up finding a few blue spots in some cakes and tossed them, and then didnt end up using one of the jars and let it sit a little longer since it was only at 70% and got some blue marks, but to me it looked like bruising but i have no clue, i hope its not a con tam.

give it some time it loks like it's almost there, as for your casing just check any pan grow, they always fruit right as it's applied becasue it's such a thin layer

i was saying just check out some pan grows like stonesuns or anybodys, whenever a thin casing layer is applied you should fruit right away, anything over a half inch wait for some growth to poke through

ahh i see what your saying now. well thank you. And on average is BRF supposed to take that long in a monotub like setting? should i keep the holes taped in darkness? or should i introduce light and FC them right now?

take that tape off your liner that just defeats the purpose, if your not sure just give it a couple more days

We use a liner so that it shrinks and sticks to the side of the substrate.
It cannot do this when it is taped to the tub, and it will separate from the substrate, creating a microclimate perfect for side pins, and defeating the entire purpose of the liner even being there.
Cut the liner closer to the substrate next time, so the is less "hang over".

ahh i see what your saying. i feel like i should go ahead and just fruit it. I have no clear lids for the tubs so i have to do saran wrap lid.
