Indoor Garden
    #19292214 - 12/18/13 08:04 AM (10 years, 2 months ago)

So,this is supposed to be the most wonderful time of the year.Well, whoever said that, must live where it's warm all year round, because it's the most horrible time of the year for me.It's freezing cold out,and I wont' be able to do any outdoor gardening for at least another four months!I however do,have my mini indoor garden to keep me busy, and I would love to see what you all have going indoors as well,so lay em on us:grin:My garden also was currently in the basement, but even with a heater it got too cold,so I moved them all upstairs, including my butt too:biggrin:

That's a lovely indoor garden and the bright 6500k lights should help chase away any winter blues

They are very resilient. I like small ones. I had one that was 4 ft tall and growing all over the place and my wife made me uproot because it did not look nice. Needless to say i got no balls and complied.

Don't I know how resilient they are!I had a huge one, that I had no room for anymore,so I gave it to my mom.Well, her garage burned down, and that sagao was in there. Now get this, the leaves, and stump were totally burned black, beyond recognition,as well as all er other plants, and stuff in the garage.Well, she didn't want to throw the sago away, and she put the burnt stump over on the side of her house, and not more than two months later, the first green growth started, and now that damn thing is more healthy than it ever was before all that happened. They are survivors for sure, and fire doesn't even phase them! Also, never listen to a woman ferrel:facepalm:

It gets to be about 90f in there  proper ventilation is my number one priority before spring comes around. Believe it or not the tomatoes are actually doing a lot better than a week ago. They were all almost falling over they were so wilted. The tropicals I have seem to almost like the heat so it isn't all bad. The kratom grows like crazy and the caapi's are doing pretty good

Yeah, that's pretty warm man,but it seems everything is doing fantastic regardless:thumbup:Can you not put a small fan blowing on them?It will help with air flow, and temp, plus makee them stronger overall:-)

I have a huge fan blowing on them, it almost feels like you're in a wind tunnel! I also have a small exhaust fan circulating air out of the room but neither have really made a dent in the temp. And to add insult to injury when the light goes off it drops to about sixty  And it's only running at 360w...

What are the specs on your fluoro? It looks like it's doing a pretty damn good job

Beautiful plants! Nice set up! Those lights will over winter, but they are far from sunlight. Watch for etiolation, that will be a sure fire sign of too little light.

I see,but any air flow is better than no air flow:grin:I paid $13 bucks for my fluorescent fixture, and the bulbs are cheap 40 watt ecolux. Not sure what type of spectrum they emit though.I do know it keeps my plants alive, and thriving, during our normally short winters until spring:grin:

Not that i am trying to brag, but i can hit you up with pics of my outdoor garden tomorrow if you like! All that is indoor is my cacti.  My night time temps wont be absurdly cold for another month or so.  Outdoors i have poppies, brocoli (the fractal kind :awesome:), peas, radish, beet, tangerine (getting really ripe about now), buddhas hand citron, onion, passion fruit, blackberry, strawberry, spearmint, oregano, and artichokes....  the artichokes are getting fucked over  a little tho
