Is it better to air dry mushrooms or would a dehydrator be fine...I've heard heat will take away potency...maybe I'm over thinking

Search function.
But, a dehydrator is the way to go....mine gets to 167 degrees. It'll dry a whole tray in about 3 hours. I don't think heat does much to the potency.

What they said, but I dont know about 3 Hours, they may seem dry, but I would hazard to say that if you fruits are more than 20 grams wet than you should consider waiting 14 hours at 120-150'f and if you're picking bottom/side pins that are heavy in moisture content than 24 hours.
See, once dried I put into FoodSaver bags, vacuume pack and impulse seal,
It wouldent be a good idea to have moisture in there without adding desiccant packs.

I don't think your fruits are cracker dry. Even small fruits take a good 6-10 in my dehydrator that gets to 165

They grind to powder in a coffee grinder....I literally crumble them, although my fruits thus far have been small cake fruits....my mono fruits are looking much bigger.

I make mine into jell caps but maybe your dehydrator is more efficient at air movement

Gel caps are the way to go. I have the 000 size, and I can cram .5 grams in them.

If your product is totally dry you can get a gram in those things. I stick cracker dry fruits in the blender and really cram em in to achieve this

Dehydration, but asked the question a lil late...was afraid of the heat taking away from potency...I'm a new grower that's learning from his mistakes....better luck next time will fall into this category

thats the best way to dry them, fast as possible.
leaving them exposed to air longer than necessary affects potency compared to getting them as cracker dry as fast as possible
