Quit smoking pot.
Relax; stress hurts memory.
Start studying now.
Don't stop until the class ends.
Don't be one of those students that stresses out, reads every word of every everything 6x and then gets a C and wonders why. Get tips from your professor / TA early, pair up with someone smarter than you in the class, and study exactly what you need to and nothing more.
Use amphetamines in moderation if you really must. They'll help you concentrate for long periods of time, but will also stress you out. High doses are not helpful. Low doses can be very helpful.
If you can study hard, study smart, and study often without stressing out too much you'll be fine.
(Source: I finished a B.S. in 3.5 years with a 3.8 GPA using many of the methods above)

Whats the class? I mean not to sound like an ass but any 100 level class is pretty much common knowledge by the time you graduate. If it's hard already and you can't figure out what to do then you're kinda fucked.

The class is about 4 weeks and they have you reading 6 chapters per 4 quizzes.
Sweet damn...
I am pretty good at staying on my shit, but this is not even realistic. There must be some other logic to passing the course. After all it is a winter break 122 level course.
What do you think?
This is just what studying law is like. They set a ridiculous amount of reading, to the point that its almost impossible to get it all done.
You need to be able to assess what is crucial and what is not. Skip all the fluff, 'scan read' until you hit pay dirt, and soak up the pay dirt. If they say read pages 1-50, you don't read every page, just the important stuff. Be sure to Actively read' the important stuff. Highlight what's important and take notes on it to revise later. You can then condense down the essential points of a chapter into a few pages. It takes time to be able to assess what is crucial and what isn't, but as time goes on you get better at it.
Be sure to make use of summary guides or 'primer texts'. Instead of reading the 700 page text, you can start with the 50 page primer text to get an overlay of the important issues and orient yourself, then when going through the text, once you hit the key issues, you focus. And you skip all the fluff.
But it's tough man. You really have to work on your concentration and train your mind to focus over long periods of time. The brain is a muscle just like any other, and it improves when tou train it. repetition. Again, with practice you get better at it and more adjusted to it. But yeah, initially you just have to push through the wall. Study an hour, the. Get a coffee or have some food. Go outside for 15 mins and get some fresh air, listen to music, rest your mind a bit. Have a ciggie if that's your thing.
The most important thing is to not fall behind on your weekly studies. At the start you'll think ' oh I can do this another time I can't be bothered..... I've still got 12 weeks before my exam '. Don't sink into that trap, because you do that four weeks in a row, and then it's suddenly week 5 and you have a 20 hour catchup, and you drown in the amount of work you have to do. The best thing to do is start like a bull out of the gates from the start, work more in the beginning do you finish comfortably.
And don't put your assignments off because you have 8 weeks to complete them. Start straight away and work hard early on.
This is what I've learned over 5 years.
Good luck mayne!

Nova said: You need to learn to prioritize material so you spend time with and soak in the shit that you think will be on the test and very briefly skim over everything else. In my experience, usually around 80% of the material can be skimmed over.
That is what I have been thinking. And because it is an online class the tests are open book. This is 122 class, but I have taken 350s online and the open book tests were not very passable unless you actually read the material at least once.
I think you are right though. I asked the professor and he said that he knows it's crazy and that our discussions, another part of our grade, can pad our test grades.

You take care of business, if you have 6 chapters you read them and take the quiz with the info fresh in your mind. Its an online class so you'll have the advantage of using the book as a reference during the test too. If you have an electronic version of it the search function in your ereader or pdf reader will help you knock out some problems quick too by taking you directly to the answers in your text. Its not hard. It might be a pain in the ass but its not hard. Its just a matter of completing your tasks.

So far so good.
I have been reading and skimming with confidence.
I am almost ready to take test 1 and get it over with.
I would like to keep this rolling and take test 2 by Monday so I can be half done.
