Pachanoi, possibly non-PC, but I'm not sure based on those pictures.

Yeah, I was pretty sure it was a PC, but I've never seen a 5-ribbed one. This proves to me my theory that all Trichocereus look best with 5 ribs!

Maybe lack of rib count and slim diameter of cactus is the reason there is only 5 ribs..

I have seen in very shade grown plants, they loose ribs lots down to 5, rarely to 4. Typically 5-6ribbed cacti comes out when light is poor, as well as diameter is more slim.

Nah, it's not due to light. Or at least light is not the major factor.
It's mostly due to genetics, perhaps influenced by some external trigger.
I've noticed that most of the hybrids with T. scopulicola or Superpedro genetics will soon revert to 5 ribs, often starting with more. Even when growing in full sunligh. T. bridgesii also often produces 5-ribbed specimens. But it can happen to any of them, it's just less common.

Yeah, all my others have 8 ribs, and, the lighting was pretty low. That's what caused it to
etiolate so badly I was only able to grow my plants by windowsill at my old place. Now that I moved,I got so much yard space,I'm not going to know how to act in a few months:evil:

I grow mostly indoors, lots of trichos has turned from 7-8 ribs to 5... Then increase number of ribs. Anyway. I have seen purely 5rib pedros due to lack of light. Anyway, I think this because I see it's very slim to trichocereus.
