Pictures through MMS and image data

Okay I couldn't think of anywhere else to post it but here's what I need. I have a picture that was sent to me via mms text and when I open it in say photoshop or any editor there is no data left behind by the camera it was taken on (iphone 4.) Let's just call it a little bit of detective work, but I need to find out when the image was actually taken. The created/modified tags are in line with when I SAVED the file from the original message. I know there's gotta be a way to do this...
This is all I get...

OP you fucking creeper, a little detective work my ass, but hey I'm not here to judge you. ANYWAYS...
Chances are, the person sending it to you knew you'd be doing something creepy with their picture, or wanted to anonymize themselves. They probably removed all exif data, metadata, and geotagging, etc... from the picture before they sent it to you.

I highly doubt it, they would have no reason to have done so. That and they're not the most tech savy person, and wouldn't have the faintest clue to do something like that. And I'm not really being a creeper, just trying to obtain some truth through investigation. I just want a date, that's it.

I also just tested it with a friend of mine, my phone automatically tags the date after it is saved from the text thread. Need a way around this...

Sometimes people may be more tech savy than they are letting you know! If there's no other data in it, than that would suggest the person is more tech savy, or the person sending it isn't who you think they are, or any number of other possibilities.
I don't think you'll be able to find a way around that, perhaps get them to email you the picture?

Ok, new question, does anyone know where on an android device text message data is stored?
