Looks like a Pleurotus, and a Pholiota sp.

If the tree is alive, certainly. But the fact that they are growing on it side by side, indicates that the tree is mostly dead wood, in that spot at least.

Nah, they are just eating the wood that is already dead.  Some mushrooms are parasitic and do damage trees, however these are saprotrophic.

Your Pholiota might be something close to http://www.mushroomexpert.com/Pholiota_limonella.html

Dead wood is still a structural support, which these mushrooms will be weakening as they digest it. They're probably slightly hastening the day this tree falls down even though they are not attacking healthy tissue.

And yes, those oysters look delicious.
