Magicman69 said: OP, How much did your grow light setup cost? Since I don't currently have a yard to put my cacti outside, they are by a window. I'm thinking about buying some grow lights to add the amount of light they get. What would you recommend that's not super big or expensive, but will help accelerate growth?
That would be hard pressed to call that a grow light set up:-)I'm using a $10 dollar shop light from walmart, and the bulbs cost me about $8 dollars for a two pack:-)
Ahh this is good news. I saw a similar set up being sold at home depot for $50. I'll probably swoop it up after Christmas. My next apartment I'm getting one with a deck for sure so my plants can be outside. I move in 6 months, so I'm keeping my eyes open

Do you keepher outside during warmer temperatures? It would be very hard to bring in my ruby red grapefruit tree.

Yeah,I think that one actuality is a ruby red I grew from seed and gave her.One of them is.I don't know which one,so I just called them all lemon trees.Should have just put citrus:-)These also go out at the first of spring, and stay out until around November. Why would you need to bring yours in?you have a perfect climate for citrus!

I see, well back in Florida,it got in the 20's and sometimes teens every winter, and it never affected any of the local trees.I guess they were all adapted to such extremes in temperature.I'm going to start up some more form seed, and do a bonsai grow with a few:-)
