Did you capture or were you captured?

The reason I have such respect as well as healthy caution when it comes to psychedelics. So, were you captured or did you capture.

If you mean to ask if I found psychs myself or if psychs were offered to me, then it is the former. I've always been intrigued by mind altering substances.

Or are you asking if we took them for granted and had a difficult experience or approached them with a healthy respect from the get go?
Speak sense.

cap·ture ˈkapCHər verb 1. take into one's possession or control by force.
Well I paid for mine so i guess I didn't capture them.
I have had some pretty intense dmt trips where they took me into their control by force. I guess I was captured.

I was poetically expressing something that I've experienced on a few trips. It felt like by choosing to use psychedelics I had stepped onto a chessboard. I suppose I'm asking if anyone here has experienced the same, and how the results of that experience shaped you and/or future trips. Sorry if I'm not being clear, it's a little late

I doubt anyone would have had the same experience as you. Trips are generally unique to the individual. Maybe others' subconscious have manifested similar feelings through different thoughts or ideas but you're still being incredibly vague.
Try to help us understand the chessboard and what it means.

"Psychedelics turn enlightenment into game theory". I've had this idea that however you approach psychedelics, is how they approach you. Approach them looking for a fun time, with the right set and setting that's exactly what you'll get. Approach them as something more, and they approach you with something more... challenging. I approached them as if they were a teacher, primarily existentially. There came a point where it was no longer me being taught, but me having been taught, and now needing to play a game of "chess" if you will. What moves will I make, how will I apply what I've been taught. (I'm not saying the psychedelic experience is a separate entity from yourself. I can only word it metaphorically).

You have some interesting thoughts, OP. I enjoyed reading them! I too somewhat feel the same.
It's sort of the same concept as how your mind is when you go into the trip, is how the trip will turn out.
But from what you are saying, how do you now go into psychedelics? Applying what you have been taught is outside of the psychedelic experience, is it not?

This "game of chess" is my life. It is what choices I make and how I move from here. It's no longer limited to when I'm under the influence of drugs. I went to a rave the other week. Completely sober, I partook in no substances, as I didn't feel the need to. My entire body moved to the music in a way I never could before. It was like I had gotten what I needed from drugs, so, I no longer needed them, in this particular case MDMA is the drug I'm referring to. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience with drugs.

That's most certainly true!
And I've been there, yes. Personally, my trips have always had a rather psychological/universal theme to them no matter my approach. For me there was no chessboard idea. It was more of realising the network of how everything influences something else on every level and every scale. It shaped me in the sense that I know I have to be mindful of that in my own actions and words and what I choose to do in life. It gives me a better sense of understanding and through that, control.
And I feel it and am reminded of it almost every time I trip.

since a vendor has to be cautious, if you receive or purchase it is because you have cultivated a kind of readiness that might be perceived by the vendor of presenter of valuable lsd.
In this sense, you actively cultivate a capture mentality, a receptivity, or interest. Hopefully it is like a spider web that the fly is happy to land on.
Once you take your lsd, however, you are captured, and you are the happy fly offering life to the spider.
you are both

i get what you guys are saying. for me it also seems that each new trip builds upon the lessons (or chess game as you put it) of the last. once you decide to use them as a tool, they will take you in a way, and continue the teachings every consecutive trip, each time making sure you've applied the lessons you've been taught or else you get a nice ol' whoopin.' at least in my experience
