Ayahuasca Brew Quick Q&A

Ok so I want to get in to the ayahuasca tonight, I finally got in my mimosa. It's a nice purple-red. Im a little fuzzy on a few details of my brew so here I go.

So I'm planning on 8g of mimosa. I would say it's shredded nicely so I shouldn't need to grind it? I got a gallon of good spring water, lemon, and vinegar. I was leaning towards lemon but something tells me vinegar might be better with the extra egg flavour, when I do the tannin extraction.

Mainly I need to know how much water to use per wash. I want to use as little as possible. Should 250ml do it? From what I can tell I need to slow boil/simmer for about a half hour, cool and filter in to big pot, repeat 2x, then slow boil/simmer until I'm down to about 100ml. I'm to add the egg white when I'm boiling down. How much lemon per 100ml and vinegar per 100ml would you use? Is the vinegar flavour strong?

I'm sure I got some of this right there are just a lot of different details in all the info I found. I really don't want to burn my brew, is this easy to do if you're still just simmering, or only if I were to do a heavy boil? I'm going to be using harmine hcl as my maoi, I'm guessing this would mix well in some water.

:shrug: I have yet to brew ayahuasca.

Been reading about it a lot lately though because I am curious, and it is on my to do list.

http://forums.ayahuasca.com/ is loaded with info. You need to register to view the preparations forum, but there are lots of recipes and procedures for ayahuasca, anahuasca, and pharmahuasca.

As much water as you need... You can reduce it later if needed ... Use more rather than less
A few cups at least to start out but have to make sure you don't dry it out
You won't taste the egg
Vinegar or lemon juice (citric acid) are weak acids... So a teaspoon in your pot is all you need

What are you using for MAOI?

8 gm is a good dose... Could make 10 gm and not drink it all unless you need to
