heart and liver

when i was younger, 7, they put me on ritalin and i took myself off at 16. from 17 to about 22 i did a bunch of DXM, starting with triple c's. the first few years it was triple c's and then the last of my dxm years i stuck to robo. this was a low point in my life and was extremely reckless. from 18 till now, im 29, ive been a pretty heavy alcoholic. i never drank insane amounts, but i did/ do drink on a daily basis. for the past 10 years i prob averaged close to a 6 pack a night, with a night off here and there.
i was able to quit drinking for a year a few years ago, but started up again. i think if i really try now, i could quit again.
my question is, what can i do to reverse the damage done and ensure a healthier life as i grow older? i dont want to be that guy that has a heart attack at the age 35.

There's no trick just exercise and eat well and moderate your consumption of alcohol.

Sure but if you choose the right foods you can find all the vitamins you would need. I'm not sure what would help you in your case.

not sure heart damage can be cured but it can be mitigated
liver damage can be undone and the liver regenerated milk thistle i think helps with that

The best thing for the heart is cardiovascular exercise I think.
And the liver yea I've heard of milk thistle... but the liver will regenerate itself.

I really don't think it's that bad. People drink way more than you do and are a lot older. You're only 29 and I'm sure you'll feel much better if you're committed.

I think you're underestimating your body's resistance.
Right now you got 2 options...
1. Worry about it. 2. Do something about it.

Unless you are getting specific symptoms such as chest pain, breathlessness, swollen/puffy ankles, palpitations etc your heart is probably fine. If you are particularly worried about your heart you should approach your doctor, tell them everything you have told us and ask if an ECG and Echo-cardiogram would be necessary.
As regards the liver... the best thing you can do is cut out the alcohol, stop smoking and reduce the saturated fats in your diet. Milkthistle seeds have got some good evidence behind them so they are worth a punt!

I second the Milk Thistle recommendation. I also highly recommend eating a healthy diet, e.g. low sugar, little to no processed foods, plenty of vegetables, home cook for yourself, high quality proteins, eat nuts/flax/olive oils, and take a quality multivitamin. Lay off the alcohol and find something that you are in love with, I'm talking about something that keeps you true to yourself and gives you motivation not to drink. If you feel good eating a certain way, go for it! Listen to your body.
If your state/province allows it, set up an appointment with a naturopathic clinic that has a psychologist and a wholistic/nutrition-based practitioner. They can work in conjunction to address your personal needs.

this is all sound advice. im thinking about replacing alcohol with kratom. i have had luck in the past, but never took it too seriously. as of now, no insurance which means no doc.

I guess do what you gotta do, kratom has its own negatives as it is a mild opiate and comes along with the addictive properties.
I'm guessing you're living in America? I'm not sure how the system works over there but do you not qualify for obamacare, especially with something like alcohol addiction?

I would definitely try to get medical insurance and see somebody who you trust so you can speak about your issues and concerns in confidence with somebody in a trusting environment. This may help much more than you'd imagine. Much more than switching to another substance to help with your current addiction.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. Unless you show signs of illness don't even think about it.
