 casing 7 days still no pins

hello there i put my casing in the fruiting chamber like 7 days ago and theres still no sign of pins at all (ecuador strain), i have that poor mans pod setup with perlite, only thing is its not fully sealeed, especially where the lid goes on i dunno if this could have anything to do with it... other than that everything should be fine they've been getting around 12 hours of light a day, stuff like that, humidity looks fine theres condensation on the walls of the casing tray and shit, i guess the only thing could be that its kinda cold in that room... is it normal to see no signs of pins yet, or should i start worrying about it and if so what should i do? thanks

Im kinda new here, but know casings well. It usually takes about 9 days or so in this neck of the woods. usually you see something by 2 weeks. 7 days is almost there

if the temp. is cold it will grow really slow. in cold temp like low 60s it can take 2 months for one verm/brf half pint to colonize.try cold shocking.

My friend is growing out EQ's from a year old print and his were stubborn too. They finally started pinning yesterday.

man im having touble getting a fruting temp, texas sucks. its like 79-81 all day inside my casing chamber until night then it goes down to 75-77. any suggestions on how i might lower the temp other than running the AC. oh and 96% is too high of a RH isn't it? thats another problem im having, getting the RH down to the mid-high eighties.

the hygrometer i have is from a cigar shop so it doesnt cut out till 100%. it was like 12$. you should be albe to get a good one for cheap at just about any cigar/tobacco shop!

yeah, mine says hi after 90 as well, it really pisses me off, i'm gonna go get a good one, probably the ones that go in cigar humidors

I also have the same problem, I was using ice. As in ice cubes. But my setup is not normal... Im using Poor Mans Pod but without geolite or perlite, there is just water and my casings are on a raised and splash shielded platform inside the pod, I would just keep the water temp down at about 60f by dumping trays of ice cubes in, and my PMP would stay at about 72 - 74 (this is with the air pumps on always) the air is cooled as it moves through the cold water. Worked ok for me. Im now trying to find a de-humidifier, Im thinking I can take one apart and place that part inside the de-humidifier that gets cold into the water to cool the water.

keep the humidity high and they will pin, be patient and make sure they get some light everyday - the ladies will arrive !
