Pope Francis is a Poseur
    #19285487 - 12/16/13 07:07 PM (10 years, 2 months ago)

I've seen those  great photo ops about him kissing the deformed people.  I'm so totally sure those happened spontaneously.

The ecopopemobile - wowow - fucking fantastic, or something.

Even nonpapists are like whoa.

Here's what scares me.  If say he doesn't masturbate and has nocturnal emissions instead, which is a fact of malehood, then what sort of dream sets them off?

I mean, before he was Christ - the representative of the Messiah, on Earth, he was a mere mortal.

He literally is a poseur of The Annointed.

Okay fuck all of you you poseur worshipping geeks. Pick it apart and burn me alive.

Do nuns shave their bush? Their legs?  If not that's kind of hot.  I like both extremes, and a few middle of the extremes too - you know - landing strip.... women who don't shave at all are quite a bit more savory.

im no catholic sympathetic, but this current pope is really setting an example. I definitely have more respect for the catholic church now that they have put him in.
I think you would be hard pressed to find a fault of his, especially in contrast to the vile, lecherous assholes they have had in there the last couple centuries.

he brought much needed piety back to the position of pope and I am a fan of his.

I don't mind a slight trim job if they are exceptionally hairy but otherwise all natural is my motto.  Shaved pussy's are all right if you're into 13 (physically and mentally) year olds but not my thing. :boring:

Pick it apart?

OK.  The Pope is mortal.  He isn't some transformation of Christ; he's a man who is elected head of the Catholic Church by a bunch of other guys.
He'll have faults and flaws as every other human being does.  OMG, he'll even splooge his bed in his sleep like plenty of guys do, because he's just a guy.

It just so happens that he's a mostly down to earth, fairly good guy when compared with the rest of us schlubs; even if we're pretty good people.
By comparison to the Popes I can recall, he's downright amazing.  Under the past 3 papal regimes, the church has been involved in a whole lot of monetary malfeasance, litigation, and diocese swapping involving kiddie diddler priests.  All the while, the Pope sat back and claimed plausable deniability in the the entire saga, although records seem to prove that even the ever beloved JP2 knew exactly what was going on while sitting upon his gilded throne.

Pope Francis so far seems to be a genuine man of the people.  He denounced the traditional washing of a Cardinal's feet at the basilica in lieu of going to a juvenile detention center and washing the feet of wayward youths.  He had the gilded papal throne removed and replaced with a wooden chair, because it better represents the chair of a carpenter.  He doesn't wear the formal papal vestments because they aren't the clothes of a simple priest.  He still wears his black trousers and shoes to remind himself he is, at his core, still just a priest.  He suspended the Bishop of Limberg and the local Council of Bishops is making the monetary decisions as to how the mansion he built with misappropriated funds will be repurposed; potentially as a homeless shelter and free kitchen.  All this while refusing to live in the lavish papal quarters or have a chauffeur shuttle him about in the bulletproof Popemobile.
I don't think the photos of him doing these things are staged; personally, I believe he's just a good man doing what he thinks is right for the Church he obviously loves enough to attempt to reform from the top down.

If the dude soils his popejamas once in a while, he probably goes to confession about it.

I'll be very disappointed if we find out later on that he's actually just as horrible as the last lot of them.

It's hard for me to believe that a guy like you are describing could make it to the top of that corrupt organization.  I'll withhold judgment for a little while and hope for a miracle.

Me too but I think the guy is going to get lynched by his bishops if he keeps this up. Many of them are already deeply pissed off at him.

I wouldn't hold out too much hope. How many kiddie fiddlers has he forced to face justice before the secular courts? How much of the looted Vatican treasure has he returned?

Zero and none. All we get is some nice pictures.

Here's my 2 cents.

Jesus got crucified, act like Jesus and you'll end up that way too. The pope is well on his way for a crucifixion.

I like him. He is doing good things.

Well what makes me suspicious is, as was mentioned above, he climbed up through the ranks of the Vatican to get to the Papacy. Either he's not what he appears to be or he played his cards really, really close to his chest for about 40 years.

I don't even think the guy knew he was up for consideration. plus he was considered such a longshot it was insignificant.
He forgot to cancel his newspaper subscription and personally called the guy he got his paper from in argentina from the vatican to tell him. he used to bring the rubber bands around his newspaper back to the guy in the kiosk that delivered his paper.

there are already many stories of this guys humbleness and being just an all around good person. From what i can surmise, Francis is the real deal. He is one of those few people that lives as strongly as he believes. atheists can roll their eyes at that, but the guy is good and i would actually listen to anything he had to say with an open mind as opposed to cringing at some nazi fuck drone out rhetoric.

He seems alright compared to the popes of yore, but the very concept of the position that he occupies is laughable to me.

not really much to corrupt. sure the catholic church has a lot of financial interests, but they have hardly any power or political sway.
The papacy has been put in its rightful place as being nothing more than a spiritual court for the dwindling number of people who ascribe to their doctrine.

I don't see some cabal hell bent on making every tongue confess and every knee bend. If anything, they are in crisis mode, and electing Jesuit Mr. Rodgers was a self serving move for PR and financial gains.

Could be, time will tell. I'd rather let them fall into the dustbin of obscurity myself.  It's better than they deserve.

I am of same position as Ice. I am highly suspicious of as to how he got to become pope. Especially since becoming pope is such a tricky business where many many people have to give you the green light- was he just kissing ass all his life hoping he could get to reveal his true colours as pope? I genuinely hope so. But for now I'm watching closely. This could all be a prelude to something bad and I know this sounds paranoid, but how do I know how genuine his actions are? This might as well be a publicity stunt. Besides the pope changing his lifestyle so give symbolic example to others- has the church actually been changing its policies on the more important and controversial matters? Such as homosexuals? Such as its feud with scientific and non-deist communities? The pedo problem? (these are genuine questiosn btw, does anyone have a list of his good deeds or smtn?) Is the pope actually doing anything besides putting on a touching show? Don't get me wrong, I hope this guy is genuine, but I suggest everyone to keep their eyes peeled and don't let the good-guy-pope act distract you too much from the big picture...

Not because it's a matter of christianity. I'd advise to observe everything on the political world stage i this light

The fact is that it makes no sense whatsoever.  Nobody who's been around the block a couple of times won't see the red flags. The true believer will see this as absolute proof but if it goes bad will soon forget it and replace it with the next absolute proof.  Politics works in this same fashion and between religion and politics I can see the abject immaturity if the human species.  I hold out almost no hope. :satansmoking:
