I think I get it now, nous in the heart. We must learn to live with the nous in the heart. But why does it keep rushing out? does anyone notice how no matter how much they turn their nous inward it has this almost endless tendency to rush back out?

Sounds about right to me. My better half is subtle, it takes moment by moment attentiveness to experience, it's an endless process.... It's not something that can be learned forever, conquered, and gotten out of the way.
-------------------- Everything is better than it was the last time. I'm good. If we could look into each others hearts, and understand the unique challenges each of us faces, I think we would treat each other much more gently, with more love, patience, tolerance, and care. It takes a lot of courage to go out there and radiate your essence. I know you scared, you should ask us if we scared too. If you was there, and we just knew you cared too.

My better half is always active and right up front.

It's true we have to learn to dissolve the mind in the Heart, but what is the Heart? Is it inwards? It can appear it is because when our attention is extroverted we can appear to lose ourselves, when it's introverted we can appear to find ourselves, and this goes on for a while, tendencies pull the attention back out over & over, we pull the attention away from the tendencies to the Self, from outwards to inwards, inwards to outwards, if you use force then you're subject to opposing forces
It can also appear that our Heart opens & shuts, but it's only ever the mind opening or closing, the Heart is infinite, formless, boundless, non-dual, and most importantly it's you
IME that's what needs to be realized, that the Heart is All, and you are that, no in, no out, eternally free
