Those looks like shit compared to the new Canadian money.

They're also made out of a really cool polymer that's completely unrippable and also super thin so you can carry fat stacks and not feel like you are sitting on a pad of paper.

and they break when they get cold... imagine that in a land where sub zero temps are common

you can redeem dollars for gold, it happens every day, in the real world we
call it a purchase and it's conducted in private in many cases but also it's
done openly in the commodities markets. the same is done with silver

So you didn't read the entire article.

Quote:

They were tested in 140 C and -75 C temperatures, and were tested for durability using washing machines and a tumbling apparatus, according to the National Post.

That's 284 F to -103 F.

The claim was that the bill broke at -30 C. The article points out that a test at -30c did not cause the tested bill to crack.

The 100 in the back looks terrible and rushed. Which to me indicates that there must be some massive security feature in it or something.

the shiny strip going through the middle has some metal in it

so when you stack a bunch of hundreds, that strip becomes prominently detectable with some kind of scanner.

like a metal detector?

for years people have claimed that the security strips in the bills allowed
cops to point a scanner at your pocket to determine how much you had, seems
that didnt pan out either

You don't know it randomly broke. You don't know if perhaps this 1 bill (or batch of bills) had a manufacturing issue.

I'd suspect it's more likely some fool damaged a bill and in the age we live in, decided to create some news.

The constitution locks the value of the dollar to an exact weight of silver, making the current fiat dollar unconstitutional: link
