ATTN Cigar Aficionado's

Alright so I'm on my 4th day cigarette free. I know it's cheating in a way but I've decided to smoke cigars to substitute it for now. Maybe 2-3 cigars a week is what I'm thinking of. I've only smoked them maybe 4-5 times in my life. I picked up a few Arturo Fuente's, pretty cheap and they taste pretty good from my previous experience with them. A friend also recommended I try a Java.
Taking recommendations from regular cigar smokers about what's reasonably cheap and tastes great.

Fuentes are a good old standby, the Hemmingway line and the Anejo line are their best. Check out Tatuaje if you can find a store that stocks them, the 10th Anniversary Belle Encre is the best tasting non-Cuban cigar I've tried in a very, very long time. Also, Padrons are very high quality cigars and the Anniversary 1964 maduro principe is one of my standard go-to smokes. There are several online vendors that will sell Cuban cigars and ship them from Europe, I personally prefer Cuban tobacco above all (although Nicaraguan leaf is a close second). The Cuban Bolivar petit coronas and Montecristo especiales are two of my all time favorite cigars. Don't confuse the Dominican knock-off Cubans that have the same brand names made by General Cigar, they are shit.
I would recommend detoxing for a good 6 months to 2 years before you pick up smoking cigars, or you will approach them as a nicotine addict and over-indulge. If you wait a while and then go to back to cigars after you're well out of the habit, you'll be able to smoke them once in a while without cravings and enjoy them for the fine taste and aroma rather than chasing a nicotine high. I suggest smoking only the finest you can afford, and smoking less often, life is too short to waste on shitty tobacco.

Pipes are a lot nicer than cigars in my opinion, also is very relaxing when you haven't had a cig.

Seriously, have you ever smoked a 10-20 year old Cuban cigar? Don't talk out of your ass. The vast majority of cigars on the market taste like shit and aren't worth smoking, but the right vintage cigar is every bit as enjoyable as good pipe tobacco, just as smooth and aromatic, and is right up there with a good wine or whiskey in terms of subtle enjoyment. Smoking a good cigar a few times a year is hardly a serious health risk. If you are smart and only smoke good quality tobacco on rare occasions then cigar smoking can give you a lot of pleasure without a lot of risk.

Carlos Toraño is my favorite cigar maker. I'm partial to maduro wrappers, and the Exodus 1959 is my favorite. If you can get your hands on some Exodus 1959 torpedos, buy them!
I've enjoyed every Toraño cigar I've smoked though. The quality is awesome and they're very reasonably priced. Look up reviews.
(and no, I don't work for Toraño)

I only smoke cigars on special occasions, so I don't have many recommendations. However, I am a former smoker and swedish snus is a Godsend for someone who wants to quit.
