THEY MAKE IT LOOK EASY AND LOW MAINTENANCE
They don't tell you to buy High Quality tubs.
They don't tell you to more than one tub your first time making one.
They don't tell you to buy tools fitted to cut plastic.
They don't tell you not to cut a hole bigger than the saran wrap.
They don't tell you you are going to have to dunk THIS SHI* EVERY 2 DAYS "ESPECIALLY DURING THE WINTER" TO KEEP THE HUMIDITY UP.
My cakes are loving this SGFC thou
Not really mad don't get butt hurt

THEY MAKE IT LOOK EASY AND LOW MAINTENANCE
- it is, you just need some common sense
They don't tell you to buy High Quality tubs.
- Everyone knows being a cheapskate doesn't pay off
cheap shit doesn't last as long. period.
They don't tell you to more than one tub your first time making one.
- suit your own individual needs, I hope we don't have to be interior designers too. One tub worked fine for me

They don't tell you to buy tools fitted to cut plastic.
- I can think of 20 different ways to put the holes into the tubs, Maybe learn how to make a hole in plastic before deciding to tackle mycology. There's some prerequisites

They don't tell you not to cut a hole bigger than the saran wrap.
- buy a clear tub like the TEK suggests
They don't tell you you are going to have to dunk THIS SHI* EVERY 2 DAYS "ESPECIALLY DURING THE WINTER" TO KEEP THE HUMIDITY UP.
- Not true, and use a humidifier for your whole house in the winter, just don't put it next to your SGFC. I don't have any problems with mine in the winter. I dunk my perlite ever other week and that's even unnecessary
Have a look at this post.

Go to grains and use a monotub then. Set and forget. Why the hell are you bitching? You knew cakes need maintenance when you started or you should have. Enjoy the process. If the only goal is to get mushrooms you are looking at the wrong way IMO.

Has this worked out in any other hobby/life choice? Why would it work for mycology?

Laziness and doing no work really paid off for you there eh? Maybe if you did some reading you wouldn't have done ALL THAT WORK FOR NOTHING.

My SGFC took me about 4 minutes to make. It cost me 6 bucks from walmart, and yeah, i bought two, but i made two. You don't need tools fitted to cut plastic, you need a drill bit, and a drill. Call me old fashioned, but most guys own a drill, at least where i'm from. My old man bought me one for christmas years ago, and it still works. Why are you using saran wrap on a SGFC? Holes and tub. PUt the wet perlite in. nothing more needed. You don't have to dunk anything every two days, if you are, you're reading some fucked up teks bro. As far as easy goes, they're as easy as it gets. Holes all around help with FAE, and perlite helps with humidity....it's the kindergarden of mushrooms cultivation...if ya can't get it, maybe it's time to re-evaluate your practical skills. Keep on truckin' though...eventually you'll get it
