Very nice haha

I'm doing an experiment!
I have been buying and selling crystals and so on, anyway I've load of broken and small bits of selenite.
So... I'm gonna crush em and plant some loph and see what they do with selenite added to the mix ^_^

What say you Ferrell ? Mr rock monster hahahaha

Edit - so I made a mix as usual, crushed selenite, added, seeds in water and voila, now we wait and see how they go ^_^

And one with no organics at all

Granite is always good. Mica and limestone as well.

My vote is for 50/50 kitty litter (plain/un-scented) and Napa-Oil Dry. Also Limestone fines and Limestone Pea-gravels. as soil amendments

Many cacti Species enjoy limestone.

I have found that my Plumeria and Adeniums enjoy limestone and the Kitty-litter/oil dry mix as well.

I popped a little limestone into this mix as lophs like so I believe but I only added a little.
Interested to see any difference between the mix with and without organics in

Thank you very much for this thread, ferrel_human.
Today I went to an artificial lake that used to be some sort of rock quarry, lots of different types of rocks and sand, found quite a bit of broken clay bits too.

Does this mix look good to y'all?

Also found this rock with a lot of nooks and crannies, so I started a little experiment, we'll see how this turns out.

I've finally managed to get a supply of mineral aggregates for planting.  Here's what I have:

- granite, 1/4- screenings
- limestone, 1/4- screenings
- pumice
- black lava pebbles

Does anyone have any ideas on a formula for mixing these together into something my lophs might like?

Fuck, but babies bounce so they might still make it

@Spellbound: I wouldn't worry about the green much, Trichoderma viridis is green for instance and most likely beneficial too

Awww Ferrell you cactus murderer you :lmafo:
I dropped my lithops last year I started and were soooooo tiny I only saved maybe five of them :frown:
In fact, twice I knocked those over :frown:

I don't like when green but yeah I think they look okay, I'll keep them going and see how they grow with and without the organics in, is interesting
