afer downclocking and volting I am running the game now at safe temps. The NB was reaching 105 C, yeeh, definitly CPU intensive.
What kinda card are you thinking of getting?
and do you know if there is input lag when running games on a tv using a 360 controller?

I've run a bunch of games on steam big picture and use my wireless 360 controller and it works perfectly fine.
So do you not have a dedicated graphics card? (Just wondering if I need to watch my temps)
I think I was looking at one of the 760's if I remember correctly.. I was looking at getting a 300-400$ card. I don't need anything thats top of the line or anything. I have a GTX 660 TI right now,

Yeah I have a dedicated card, its a AMD 3000. Just this mobo's NB gets hot, i have a special fan for it.
I always watch my temps, since I have not gotten a cooler yet, but if you have adequate cooling your fine.

Alright.. I have liquid cooling and have never had a problem.. I need to look into it though, because I don't know a damn thing about it.. Like if I need to refill it, or anything like that honestly.. I'm lazy I guess lol.

Why would you get a 760 if you have a 660 already? the upgrade will be almost negligible. You need to jump model numbers to get a boost, not so much next generation. Find a 680 if you can for the same price as a 770 and you will be screamin in games. Or at least go to a 670/770

Yeah. I was just guessing from memory. I just looked at all the benchmarks and other stuff when picking one. This is the one I planned on getting though.. or something similar
PNY NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 2GB GDDR5 2DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort PCI-Express Video Card http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CZ7Q028/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=CAFEU4N3BIG5&coliid=I29H93V4TBP5S8
Still though I will look at a 680 and the prices compared to that 770 and figure it out. I will do much more in depth looking once I have the money in hand though lol.

You don't need to upgrade if you are running a 660 right now. Performance gain would be minimal.
In general - jump up 2-3 generations of video cards for a noticeable upgrade.
Also 800 series will be out soon (Q1 of 2014 most likely), and it will be a massive increase from the 700 series. 700 series was basically just a refresh of the 600 series.
Patience.

Thanks to both of you for letting me know.
I just noticed a bit of lag when running three monitors sometimes so I thought maybe it would help a little bit. I was hoping I could get an increase in quality of the graphics or whatever but I don't know a whole lot about graphics card, other than cursory knowledge.
This is a silly question but how much are the starting cards of a new line? I've never payed attention. I certainly wouldn't want a top of the line because paying more then 500$ for a card is not something I really want to do.. at least considering that I don't need crazy top of the line stuff.

Three monitors? Are you running in surround mode? (games spanned across all 3 monitors? ) or just 3 monitors individually?
If so - the lag may be mostly due to lack of VRAM. Multiple monitors can really tax the video memory, especially 3 monitor surround gaming. That is what the TITAN was made for, with 6GB of VRAM.
800 series, will most likely have more VRAM. I'm hoping to see 4GB cards become the baseline, but that's just speculation at this point.
Like I said... patience.
I work in Product Management for one of the big GPU companies, so I can always give advice

When I was getting lag I was running 3 separate monitors each with their own dedicated task bar and everything. Now I don't seem to have much problems with the lag or anything.
Right now though I'm using 1 monitor as primary, and the 1st monitor mirrored on my 55" t.v., then a 3rd monitor next to the 1st that is its own thing.
If I did surround gaming it would probly be only two monitors but I haven't really figured out all the possible uses yet. As it is I just use steam big picture while the other two monitors do whatever I'm doing on them.

Nvidia usually starts with the 'top end' flagship cards (580, 680, 780, etc) when releasing a new line, then releasing the mid range stuff later. You can always expect to pay about $500 or MORE for a top of the line Nvidia GPU when it is first released. A Titan runs about 1k.
I never buy top of the line when it is first released.. as I don't wipe my ass with money.. I generally go with the upper-mid range. I myself am rocking a 660Ti right now. The "60s" are generally the best "bang for your buck".
Maybe wait until the 860/870s come out and see what they have to offer.
Surround gaming must be done with 3 monitors, all identical monitors of the same resolution and refresh rates. Can't do surround on 2 monitors as the center of your screen would be the bezels of the screen and that would totally suck.
For any future card you probably want something with a bare minimum of 3GB of VRAM, or 4GB.

What are the practical uses of surround gaming? I'm sure a lot more can be done then what I'm thinking of.. I don't even know how to do it personally.
I only have two 27" monitors that will fit on my desk so I will have to wait until I get a bigger desk so I can put 3 monitors on my desk. The 55" T.V. is behind me so even if I wanted to use it, it wouldn't work lol.
Yeah, I definitely don't want to get a top of the line anything.. Usually something in the middle or a little above the middle work well for me. I hardly ever play any games that are spec intensive. But yeah, I do need to get a card with more ram. I think the one I have is 1GB maybe 2GB.

There's no practical reason for it.. other than having a HUGE field of view. Your game spans across all 3 monitors, instead of only one ala -
I'm not a big fan of it personally.. but some people love it. It's cool for FPS games I guess though.
Also if you have 3 monitor surround and 120Hz monitors, you can play games in 3D (games that support it) using Nvidia 3D vision glasses kit - http://www.nvidia.com/object/3d-vision-glasses.html
It's the new type of 3D.. not the old school red and blue glasses. I don't really like that either as it gives me a headache after a while.
I'm fine gaming on one monitor. I like having my secondary monitor on the side to read/do other shit. Although I could see Surround gaming becoming much cooler in the future, with 4K monitors with VERY thin / non-existent bezels (the edges of the screen). I don't like those black gaps in between the screens.
Although to note - 600 series cards and above - support 4 monitors simultaneously. So you can do 3 monitor surround, plus a 4th "accessory" display to browse the web or whatever.

I will have to try that sometime.. For most games I probably would enjoy it on just one monitor but I dunno..
I would really like to try it with some MMO's though. Like being able to have the map and other stuff on one and everything so that I have a larger view. Not sure how that would work exactly.
Also I find that it's sometimes pointless to have all that to look at since you have a small field of view anyways and think it would be a lot harder to see across three monitors.
But yeah thats what I use my monitors for.. Two monitors for doing surfing and one for like instant messaging or music.. or like a game on one and a guide on the other.. or even two browsers one on each so I can look at stuff side by side and stuff.

Also is there anyway to use the web while playing the game? I see you mentioned you can do that but I don't know how you would get the cursor over there? Without alt-tabbing or whatever or closing the game.. I dunno

Only way to do that is play the game in Windowed Mode. If you are in full screen mode (default for almost every game) and you move the cursor to the other monitor and click it will minimize the game.

Damn. I was hoping there was a way to do it. I didn't really think it was possible but I just started using more then one monitor recently so I wasn't sure.
Yeah I usually run in Windowed mode, at least for MMO's anyway. I'll have to see what all games I can run in windowed mode but I guess its really not a big deal though

Origins is imo the weakest of all the three. The things it tried doing differently were mediocre (like replaying detective scenes) while the tons of villains and huge city ended up making the game less interesting. ;/
