So does weight-lifting. It destroys your joints and most bodybuilders have arthritis by the time they're in their 40's.
Overdoing these exercises: YES
Normal people: NO
If you run ~5 miles.... you're fine. Marathon runners are a whole different ball game on how it effects the body. It puts incredible strain on the body.
Same thing with body builders... these people aren't average in any sense of the word and push things far beyond where the body should be at. Considering all these fucking body builders focus on their upper body they start to put a considerable strain on their lower body and you see all these fucked up body builders (besides the whole steroid shit..)
Weight lifting does NOT destroy your joints and running doesn't ruin your knees... in fact both of them help lubricate the joints and keep them working even better than normal. I get sick of reading this nonsense that "oh its bad for your joints..."
No, living these insane lifestyles is the cause of these problems and then people think that's the norm and that is just not the case
Any body builder who focuses mostly on their upper body is retarded. From the beggining we are brainwashed legs legs legs, get your legs to grow and upper will follow.
The damage comes with pro hormones and certain steroids. Winstrol will wreak havoc on your joints while test is technicly safer than most recreational drugs.

Weight lifting is spiritual for me. I don't listen to music or anything I bring my thoughts completely to the here and now and focus entirely on form and breathing. Its just like yoga in that aspect, but you are moving heavy weight. Many people get bored so easily weightlifting, but ever since I've looked at it this way I cannot get enough of it. I feel great when I leave and more excited to coming back to it. Weightlifting and healthy nutrition has changed my body and my mind from the sad state it used to be. And I have beautiful LSD for actually getting me working out again since it gave me the energy to get up and moving again.

Lifting is awesome - the boring part is warming up.
