Best time to rehydrate mono?

When does everyone rehydrate a mono? Assuming it's drying out a bit and needs some love...
Directly after harvest?
Also curious..
Totally submerge OR just enough til it floats - to rehydrate?

yep right after harvest, fully submerged but sometimes just some heavy misting is enough after the first flush

How do you go about misting?
If you dont mind answering some q's...
Mist the surface or the walls?
Distilled, spring or tap?
How much and how often?
Do you fan after misting?

i mist the fuck out of everything, always tap-never distilled. and i mist once the walls start to dry up or the beads of moisture on the sub surface start to dissapear

Do you mist during all stages?
I'm sure the walls are always safe but is it damaging to mist the surface at any point?

no i don't mist until after thwe first flush and only right after just to give it some moisture, i find i don't really need to dunk it till after the second flush but many people do it after the first flush anyway

So you only mist for the first day or two after the 1st flush? Then you leave it alone until the second flush, harvest and rehydrate?
Is that about how you smang it

hi ya'll, i have some questions to add to this. i can't fully submerge this big 'ol cake from the mono, is it cool to just pour water over the surface and let it float for 4-6 hours? the mycelium should soak up the water yeah (edit- i just overlooked that OP basically asked this question already, but i'm still curious, as Cron said he usually fully submerges but that heavy misting can also help trigger)
the idea behind all this is to get water to evap and become er, humidity to trigger pins right? as well as providing water for the organism to consume so as not to dry out
also, the cake tends to churn out a ton of metabolites, is it also good to mist with H2O3 to kill any bacteria? i've also heard that hydrogen peroxide helps rehydrate the substrate as well but i am iffy on the validity on that bit.

404 yes you can just float it for a while or just give it a real heavy mist. the idea behind dunking is just to replenish water in the sub to insure a good flush. if your water content is correct at the beginning you should not need too much of a dunk i floated a few at first then jut started misting heavy and didnt see a difference
metabolites could be from a contam or just stressed out mycelium but you should not spray it with peroxide it will damage your sub. peroxide is only used for a cobweb molds
