does it check out? lol. it says the min effeciency is 95, but at .3 microns its 99.99. whats the difference? also its at .5", normally they are at .9 or more...

Yes, possibly too good to be true, it seems that the product is either a factory second or a new unused item with defects, also, as far as I can tell it only filters 95.6% of the particles as small as 0.3µm, you really want one that filters 99.99%@ 0.3µm.

I don't see anything in the description about it being 99.99% efficient @ 0.3µm:shrug:

Yes, that means there are three different models with those efficiency ratings, if the one you got is the one pictured then it is at 95.6%@0.3µm.

Well, yes but I suspect it depends on the standards that it was tested under, there are several classes of HEPA filters, I would say your's is an E11 whereas you really want an H14 or higher.

That data doesn't mention what class it is, is it an E11?

It should have a letter, E,H or U with a number after it, you want an H14.

not good enough for a hepa.  i do want one just for cleaning the air though.

Just do what RR does , use nice prefilters , he has not replaced a hepa filter in 11 years running his for at least 4 hours a day 6-7 days a week
