Hey guys i use citrics tek on self healing lids. My question is, i cut small squares of the tyvek envelope but i feel for the thickest parts of envelope because before i was using the thinnest feeling part and i kept getting dried out grains on top in jars.
I was just wondering if using to thick of tyvek envelope could be restricting ge because i did a test and getting really slow colonization from both agar no pour jars and grains jars. Just wondering if anyone has experience with this and knows if some of the envelopes are to thick?

Post office tyvek is not suitable as a filter material. Period. Anyone with a microscope already knows this. Simply pressure cook a piece of PO tyvek and then look at it through the microscope. You'll see holes two to three times the diameter of a mold spore. This is not new news, we've known it for years.
For everyone who says, "I used PO tyvek and it worked" I can show a grow where someone used no filter at all, only leaving the jar lid ring slightly loose with no holes in the metal lid and that worked too. We're not looking for a 50/50 chance of succeeding. We're looking for a 100% chance of success. RR http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/16393595#16393595 i've never used the envelopes

i know if he broke down rr's post he would see "You'll see holes two to three times the diameter of a mold spore" this as being too big of holes to restrict ge to the point of being bad and there are bigger things to worry about but what do ya do right as for the grains being to dry on top i always have a couple at full colonization that don't colonize and it's not an issue, and even if they were drying out thats not related to your filter restricting ge, i'd say if anything it's not restricting enough

Instead of wasting time trying to down peoples questions why not help. Isn't that what a forum is for? Go ahead and use more famous quotes. Goes back to my point of the viagra stage of life.
