4 Quarts H20 per Brick, too much?

Most teks I see call for 4 to 4.5 quarts of water for 1 brick and some verm (usually 2 quarts).
With this recipe:
1 Brick coir 2 quarts Verm (medium) 1 cup gypsum
At about 3.5 quarts water my squeeze test (good hard squeeze) gives me a good steady stream for a sec or two like RR's video shows. A medium squeeze gives me some drops. Any more water and its like gushing. So I guess there must be some variable here that Im not seeing because .5 to 1 quart is a pretty substantial amount..
Im mixing, squeezing down, waiting... mixing squeezing down, waiting... a good hour of this so its having time to absorb the water.. I just don't know how it could be so different.
soooo.. ?
Could the medium verm be the factor here. would coarse verm hold more water?
Am I squeezing to hard, I don't thing my grip is much stronger than any normal person.
what do you think?

That's what i'm saying. 4 quarts of water and its gushing. Its defiantly way to wet. I dont know why but its totally saturated if I go to even 4.
Brick is eco earth coir so thats pretty much the norm.
The verm is like medium coarse.
?? What could be the difference here.

should just mix it after about 20 mins of adding water. then pack it down and wait another 20 mins. then it should be evenly hydrated
i dunno

I tried using 4-4.5 quarts of water one time, it was dripping wet. Not optimal. I also use eco earth coir (and medium verm).

Are we the only 2 that are experiencing this?
Am I squeezing way to hard or something.
At 3.5 quarts water:
Squeezing: Hard as I can - big stream for 3 or 4 seconds Hard - good stream for a second or 2 Med - some drops

Brick size can and will vary a bit.
Also if its not straight out of the package it will have reabsorbed some ambient moisture. Prolly negligible though

You have to adjust as needed. Coir made during the dry season will have less moisture content than coir made in the wet season. Brick size varies too. Just adjust the verm and coir to field capacity and you'll be good.
Course verm holds less water than fine verm. This why fine verm is best for brf cakes. RR

Thanks for the info everyone.
One last Q about the squeeze test.
How hard is to hard. I'm thinking Im going to hard at it and that would explain the 3.5 quarts instead of the usual 4 or 4.5.
I know its hard to explain but if you add the "norm" of 4 or 4.5 quarts and you squeeze it like your mad at it, are you going to get a long lasting stream too?
