Could well be. I've only ever had one strain of that and it was pretty weird

Same here. I just like to pretend it's still Lepista.

I'm usually a stickler for using the correct, up-to-date Latin name, but so many people still know this as Lepista. However, I maintain a master list of all my cultures, and I've got this listed as "Lepista (Clitocybe) nuda."

Taxonomy is just a way for humans to feel better about themselves. It's all made up! And more of an art than a science IMO. So use whatever name you like. Hell, I have be using P. pseudo-ulmarius for that "elm" oyster thingie and terry m himself coined that one.

I usually see rings from temp fluctuation if the ambient is too hot/cold for my incubator to control. Not sure they are a clue!

Ok I went through my petris and found the old oyster with the weird obvious rings. Also noticed similar rings in a king oyster market-stall clone and a mild one in one of ten shaggymane plates - but I've got photos of the hyphae aggregates that I don't see in the mystery plates. got photos of slight brown and reddish discolouring in a plate of Agrocybe aegerita and three Lepista (Clitocybe!) nuda isolates with the typical snow white to bluish grey colouring. I'll have to upload off my phone so give me 24 hours

Here we go:
Weird rings in an unusual Pearl Oyster plate:

No rings and usual fluff and mycelial aggregates in the shaggymane/Corpinus comatus:

Lepista nuda/Clitocybe nuda - a very light lilac tinge but otherwise snowy grey white:

Some more weird rings in a store clone of the king oyster:

And the black poplar just cause i had it in the pic folder:

Well, I finally tracked down the source and species. I messed up with my record keeping. But I'll keep the contest going!
I'll provide a hint: it's a tropical. I know this because I killed it in the regular culture fridge. Fortunately, my source will send me another culture.

Tropical? Have to be a paddy or Calocybe indica? Otherwise I'm stumped I've never seen either on agar so a total guess

Geez Terry you could run a professional culture bank with a list like that
