Old substrate still good?

I Have 3 jars of coir that id like to do one last tray with. Theyve been sitting around for about 3 weeks or more. They dont smell foul. still good? also they havent been pasteurized yet.

It's not gone bad. I'm 99% sure Coir isn't perishable, they make floor mats out of it.

Some people say you should pasteurize your casing material. Others use it without pasteurizing. I would, why not try to get that extra flush before contams show up.

yea coir its self wont disappear but if mold starts to grow on it then the nutrients will get used up.. i dont think it will start growing mold in 3 weeks tho.. usually people have it hydrated in lizard tanks for 1 to 2 months.
