BasilBush said: sorry if this is the wrong place, i am growing some thai cubensis i got all of my stuff e.g substrate and spores off of ebay (my mistake i know), two pots died and two only 3/4 colonized before i merged them together and they started to pin, anyways most of the mushrooms are about an inch or 2 long, while one is about 5 inch long and as thick as my thumb, i am worried as the caps are really really small on the big one its no bigger then my little finger nail, ill try to get pics up before i harvest,
Does anyone grow thai and can u link me some pictures so i can have a look
remove the vendor from your post...also those spores are for microscopy research only....

hi,
I grew this from a non-commercial print I traded a while ago. its supposed to be Ps. hoogshagenii semperviva.
I am just not sure about the identity because the stems are somewhat too yellow and there was no blueing when I cut it. I have no access to a microscope but does anyone have any hints? There is also very little spore production, but they are somewhat purple. Pins need 1-2 weeks to mature, so not that slow at all. But they appeared 5 weeks after casing.

thanks PP

Post this in the Hunting & Identification forum, they'll be able to help you better.

This thread should be renamed to "the operator". Maybe even "redirection station"

Or wouldn't get answered in other threads.
PE is a variety of P.Cubensis. It colonizes and fruits under the same conditions as every other P.Cubensis.
When people say a cube is a cube, except for PE, the only difference they are referring to is the difference in potency.
For all intents and purposes, PE IS A CUBE.
"Strain" is an erroneous label that has been conferred to any number of random varieties of any random species. A true Strain is an isolate of any mating pair of monokaryons. If you havent isolated via agar, you are not working with any "Strain" at all.
Any random variety of spore print or syringe contains thousands of individual strains within it. And the best you can do is simply hope to capture SOME of the random genetics that have been preserved due to selective breeding.

you are correct there are 137 or 138 pages of useful information about strains, it is more of a loaded comment since one page was a fewer newer people asking some questions that werent exactly strain related questions, sorry for any misunderstanding you had

Thank you very much for the info, any is always helpful. The questions I had were a bit more specific, but was also trying to start a "a General PE" conversation as it is the one I like the best out of the three I have worked with so far, and as a mod has already put the axe to one thread I tried to start like that and told me to post here, I did just that

well thanks so far... the rest of the FBs looks much more like the semperviva from the reports I found here. I will try to get a look at the spores some day.
They were really not more difficult than cubes, fruiting just takes longer...

I have a quick question guys. What is difference between PE, and PE uncut? I saw the PE uncut on spore works, and I was curious what the difference is.
