I thought it was bad ass. Specifically How Dracula was a member of the Order of the Dragon who was already pretty evil, as he helped impale thousands
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vlad_III_the_Impaler
So he comes home in the movie and finds his girl committed suicide at which point he renounces god and becomes a lapdog of satan, but is immortal as long as he can sustain his evil need for blood. Anyway I loved this movie because it inspires me to learn that Dracula was a real person and was viciously evil and finding out facts from researching this movie makes me wonder if Dracula was originally supposed to be metaphorical in its story sense. The facts behind the real Dracula simply make the story in the movie that much more compelling. Anyone agree?
The ending is pretty cool too

Dracula kicked ass, man. They could have done it without Keanu. He kind of sucked in that movie. Monica Bellucci was the best thing

I liked that movie, but it's been a long time since I've watched it. I saw it in the theatre when it first showed. Mighty bloodthirsty, from what I remember.
I've also read about Vlad III, but I kind of got the sense that he was more of a really successful warrior king than like, a satanic vampire. Interesting shit, though. I think I'll see what your wiki link has to say.

He was more of a successful warrior king. But to me impaling over 20,000 people is kind of similar to being a satanic vampire in a metaphorical sense right? I mean living off the blood and suffering of others to sustain yourself in one form or another? Vlad seemed to feel he couldnt live without murder. Anyway thats just my perception of it. Truly he did one of the most evil things in Europe prior to Hitler, and other events of course.
Anyway as discussed a good movie. To me the absolute best 20 minutes of the movie are the first 10 minutes and the last 10 minutes
