Natives were fucking badass. It's a shame the way their culture was systematically destroyed for the pursuit of capitalism.... Oh and Christianity too.

The turtle story is cool.
My dad just bought a used truck from a Native lady, and it's got turtle stickers in the back window. After I told him what they meant, he decided to leave them alone

Not really. They're technically a separate tribe but still same language and beliefs they're just the ones who stayed behind when we were forced to relocate.

I'm sure somebody that's actually of Native heritage could explain it better than I could, but, in a nutshell, it basically goes:
The beaver put some mud on the back of the turtle, and boom! Earth.
(sorry, I just smoked the first joint in a long while )

the Earth
but it's a great ball of mud at that, though.

Relative peace.
as in, not every was "kosher" but when were the Americans ever kosher with them either? SOMETIMES. exactly.
so my source is... what i already posted, friendo.

There are many examples of early settlers being fair with the native population, it was once we had a united government that they really got screwed.
Also, I think a lot of the peace among the different native nations was primarily the result of pillage and conquest. For example, when my area was settled it was believed to be controlled by the Lenape. But in reality, the Lenape were defeated by the Iroquois, and they permitted them to use the land. I was reading a historical source and it said the Iroquois viewed the men of the Lenape as women. When the Lenape sold land to settlers, the Iroquois flipped shit and killed a bunch of white people.

nope, never. sounds good though. THE BLACK ROBE OOM
yeah, Everschtick, they both were in relative peace with eachother, like i said... until when they weren't, and kinda well... the settlers were the first people to dabble is the American law that was used to try and make nads out of everyone... Indians stuck with pretty much old ways for a shitload of time, and they still fought wars in vicinity to each other. tribes were never really "unified".
the old versus the new, is the way it was and it was quite corruption of a race of people.
