    #19272221 - 12/13/13 07:49 PM (10 years, 2 months ago)

Hey all, i was just wondering if any of you have tried the smell proof bags? The ones im talking about are "stink sack" and "smelly proof bags". Do any of you have experience if they work completely? Do they keep in the smell of really dank bud? Like literally keeps all the smell out, wouldnt be able to smell it in a little car on the way to our vacation spot. lol. Thanks in advance

Get yourself a mason jar, those work great.
I haven't personally used any of those bags, but I'm certain that they will keep the smell out if you don't buy the cheap ones.

Nothing is smell proof. The best way to minimize the odor is to use a fresh bag. The longer your weed is in it, the more it will stink.

Just get a tight vac or glass jar from walmart.

I thought smelly proofs worked well, maybe for short term but not after a while.  I put an ounce in 2 ziplocks, then in a smelly proof bag 2 months ago.  When I open my closet I can clearly smell the ganja.

W.e. You use make sure you wash the outside of it and don't touch it again with, (for lack of a better word) "contaminated" hands.

They work great for a short time, then the smell starts to seep out.

How long are you going to be in the car? If it's less than 5 hours you'll be fine, just bag it right before you go.

Nothing is scent proof, from dogs or people. I use an airtight jar to store my herb in just to keep it fresh etc.

But the scent proof baggies fail due to the smell on your hands touching the outside of the bag. Besides that fact everything eventually starts leaking the scent. No matter how well you package it.

If you are packaging something for travel in a vehicle open the bags with clean hands, place your stuff inside..wash your hands...seal the bags. Then wash your hands again and wrap the bags in plastic wrap or you could always vacuum seal it. Will keep the smell trapped for several hours minimum.

It's pretty standard to wipe down the outside of vac. sealed bags with rubbing alcohol to try to be extra careful, but there's really no guarantee.

Those freezer bags from the grocery store keep the smell down to a minimum. They are thicker and have a better seal than your standard zip-lock baggies
