Okay, I will invest some time into researching the mycobag. I assume I'll need some kind of laminar airflow to avoid wicking contaminants while doing the grain to grain transfer?
Update: 3 weeks and 5 days and still no colonization, or any kind of growth in the jars. They have been incubating at 2 degrees higher temp (consistent 72F now). I will maintain hope for my project.

A good SAB used in conjunction with proper sterile technique is sufficient for anything you need to do with this hobby.

That's not that long.
Most sclerotia producing species I've grown are slow to get started and have very light and wispy mycelium at first. It's not dense like cube mycelium until much later. RR
Bumping this slightly old thread to say thanks RR - I am a week in with some pretty old ATL#7 spores and they are JUST now showing some extremely light and wispy mycelium on agar. I was concerned it might even be a mold or something. In fact I used the search engine for "light wispy sclerotia mycelium" and up popped your response!
Hopefully in another week or so I'll have some more solid growth and I can do some transfers.
