pans kick ass agar-grain-h-poo, case with a thin casing layer when it's colonized fruit as soon as it's applied and a 2 inch sub depth is optimal, stop misting when pins form, i prefer small trays in a sgfc, if your gonna use syringes just do a 360 inoculation with a streak acroiss the top and you will have no need to shake

unless you know how to properly pasteurize and case with a few grows under your belt i would stick with cubes or something easy before you jump into those. not that they are hard but you need to have a basic understanding with a more forgiving species.

Although I haven't grown from scratch I have done three grow boxes of cubes. I figured I would have a different experience if I tried the other varieties of mushrooms.
OK am downloading the mushroom video and will hopefully get a chance to watch it tonight/tomorrow.

Just watched the first three videos. Some seriously cheesy music, OK I realise now I am woefully under prepared and have a hell of a lot more reading/watching to do!

I've started getting together the bits 'n' bobs needed - Gypsum, Coir, Perlite, Brown Rice Flour and Verm. Will be getting a thermometer, jars and plastic box at the weekend.
I figure if I have all the equipment it will be ready for when the research is finished.

Half the reason that I like the videos so much is the music selection, it's awesome jamming out to that while learning amazing tips n tricks lolol

From what I understand from RR the trips from pans really suck hard. He didn't seem too sold on cubes either but thought they were better than pans. My understanding is that you get some of the best trips from psilocybe cyanescens. Dunno if anything is considered even better but I would love to hear if there is.
