How long will coir stay pasteurized?
    #19270407 - 12/13/13 11:48 AM (10 years, 1 month ago)

I am ready to pasteurize a brick of coco coir for a bulk substrate.

Unfortunately i only have one small tray in a monotub.

Can i keep the rest of my pasteurized coir in the bucket with plastic wrap over it?

If not, can coco coir be re pasteurized? or will that ruin it.

thankks

I would re-pasteurize it after a week or so. If you use it chances are you'll succeed, coir is very very forgiving, but to tell you the "recommended practice" I would re do pasteurization after a week.

If you pasteurize in jars and keep it sealed it will last a long time. I used some that was a few weeks old with no issues.
