How long can Sterilized Rye Berry Jars sit around waiting to be used in Jar to Jar transfer?  Can they sit for several weeks or a month

I know you're not supposed to, but I've had some sit in the fridge for a month.

Would help if you could keep them cold

They can sit around for a while.. they eventually dry out though.

I have had some that go for months and months and are still fine.

Depends on how you make them. If you follow RR's style then they dry out faster.

I go old school with a slightly higher moisture content so they last longer.

I did them RR style. I have 4 jars from last month left over. I poured heavy trying to go 1 to 10 jars, only filled 8. Gonna cook up 16 jars this weekend. I will mark those 4 old jars and use, and see if they take. Will keep you posted.

Just put some tape over the GE hole so they don't lose moisture and they should be fine.

The 4 jars I knocked up with G2G that sat around un refrigerated for a month, are actually doing better than the fresh pressure cooked jars.

Thanks for the follow up. Good to hear it worked for you.
