Yes. A lot of them hold European culture in high regard. My parents (born/raised in Nigeria) and many other African family friends can attest to this.

The continent of Africa seems like a pretty decent reason for racism. It's a terrible place.
Quit generalizing. As a whole, Africa is an extremely diverse place and not some backward, famine-ridden wasteland.

andrewmurray86: Here is your Christian perspective:
I believe that the bible does not forbid monogamous homosexual relationships. I have come to this conclusion hanging out with some excellent theologians and NT scholars who have a strong understanding of Koine Greek.
Every time homosexuality is mentioned it is in connection with slavery and oppressive type relationships. I think the context found when the NT mentions homosexuality is that of prostitution and pederasty. Not monogamous relationships.
Even if I did not have the conclusion I would still support marriage equality fully.
What a sad story about the pastor, that is not the God I serve.
Thanks for the input. I'm glad to hear your perspective. It's a shame because my friend is extremely intelligent and says he reads the bible with the perspective of loving another like him/herself and that means equality. That is a sad story about the pastor, hopefully he'll realize a better way for himself.
Do tell me - what are your views on alcohol, marijuana, hard drugs and psychedelics, if you don't mind me asking of course.
Yes, Africa is diverse. It's a shame "white people" are praised there. No one should be praised based on their innate appearance.

I'm quite happy for drugs to be legalised. Personally, I think if anything, alcohol and tobacco should be banned if you are going to ban drugs, purely on the health effects... Having Ssaid that I do quite like wine... I'm having a glass of red now.
The access I get with my uni allows me to look at journals from a wide range of fields. I did a cursory search on LSD and found it is probably one of the safest drugs out there.

Good to hear. I don't see drugs as worse than lying, stealing, or eating shitty.

I don't know shit about Africa, but I still believe there is at least some validity to what I said earlier. I'm sure that you fine folks are right though.

Why say anything at all, then? Why make sweeping statements as if you know what you're talking about when you don't?
