Pressure Cooker advice and wisdom wanted.

Ok so I'm thinking about getting an 8qt presto aluminum pressure cooker sent to my local WalMart for 33 and some change. So this is where you good people of the shroomery come in.
1. Do you do you think this is worth it. If No why? Aluminum won't last long, 8qts isn't big enough to accomplish a decent bulk grow, etc.
2. If you don't think this is worth it can you point me to a better deal. Amazon, someone willing to sell there's or w.e. For the better deal it has to be 60 or less including shipping. I need to have enough to order agar and get some glad containers. I suppose I should add this is mostly for sterilizing rye bags couple pounds here and there. Agar and anything else along those lines. I also would be happy if it lasted at least 6mo or around there.
So I wasn't sure if this should be in marketplace or here, so mods go ahead and throw it where it belongs thanks and my apologies if you have to move it.

The presto 23 quart is usually between $70 - 80 on Amazon, and you can get free shipping.
Just something to consider.

just make sure its of good construction. i seen pressure cookers at walmart and some with more plastic parts then others. i have a 7qt fresco brand and it has never let me down. it takes a while to PC things for bulk but it gets the job done.

8q aluminum presto is pretty solidly built. For the change the 23Q is the better deal for sure. I got my 8q presto off craigslist for 20$

Do you cook? If not, you can stop reading here. If so, i'd like to suggest checking out this setup.
I have almost this exact set and it is the dog's bollocks. It's stainless, not aluminum. Personally, i would not cook something in an aluminum pot if i intended to eat it, especially acidic things like spaghetti sauce. Again, if you have no thought of using your PC for anything other than mycological endeavours, nevermind.

If I had the extra money for sure would buy one of the 20+quarts off amazon for about $70. Unless you only intend on ever doing a couple quart jars at a time.

No it's mostly just to get get a couple pounds of rye bags done, and I REALLY REALLY want to get into agar. So I figured I'd get this for now along with rye and agar supplies. With that set up I figured it would keep me busy for a couple months. I only have like 90 total so spending 80 and having no supplies doesn't really make sense to me. I'd rather get everything on a slightly smaller scale and get my feet wet so to speak and then just have the one small PC later for little jobs and the big one for my quart jars and bags. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't gonna wait 2 weeks and 30 bucks later and it breaks the first time I use it. I'd probably lose it.

agar is good for any size grow. I don't grow for anyone but myself and occasionally my wife will join me so my 8q is perfect. Agar is still the best part of this hobby though,

Search craigslist and eBay. I picked up an All American 21 quart canner for 50 bucks. Works like a charm.

Lol I agree although I haven't tried it yet. I'm just really intrigued by it and can't wait to get started but going site to store it can take up to 12/26 to get here where as I'm gonna have my agar supplies by Tues or wed.

I have the 23 quart been running it for a little over 2 years. Only problem is the top ring needs replacing dew to it shrinking.

Buy at least a 23 qt pressure cooker. Resale value isn't much and the $10-15 extra you'll have to spend will be worth it.

Well I understand I should get something bigger and if I could I would get a 23qt. I absolutely believe you get what you pay for when it comes to manufactured goods. So I was more worried about waiting for this cheap thing and then it falls apart when I take it out of the box or some shit ya know. Lol. As for eBay and Craigslist I'll take a look. I'm only on a phone and I live in bum fuck nowhere with a pos car so its usually worth it for me to pay alil extra to get it shipped as close as possible. In this case I get free shipping and free lesson in patience... Fml...

Subscribe to bed bath beyond email and text notices you'll get tons of free shipping and 20% off offers for the website (which brings their prices in line with amazon, they aren't cheap). 23q presto is great but do what you gotta do for now.....you'll probably pay as much in electricity as you think you're saving in 3 months if you're serious about bulk grows. Good luck!

Yeah the waiting sucks but sounds like you should be happy with 8 quart. They should last quite awhile as long as you don't run them dry which is hard to do unless you don't know how to properly use one. I too have a very very tight budget but luckily I already had a pressure cooker, unfortunately mine only runs at 10 psi.

XD Not likely up until a few days ago I had 2 hobbies at the same time. Replicating 2 spectrums of light over multiple areas vs 1 spectrum in a significantly smaller area is alot cheaper.

That's what I've been wanting to hear and I've heard it a couple times so yea I'm good if I decide to go that way. That's not that bad could be worse I hope this 1 goes up to 10-15. I should probably look into that.
