Hey everyone i am a first timer so im sure my termonology will be terrible, but here we go i am using the brf pf tek, and i made about 9 cakes for a test i broke one of them up and put it into a plastic tray and this is what it turned into. Im just wondering if this is mycelium or mold

What part of the tek said to destroy your cakes and throw them in an opaque tub?
How to do BRF cakes
The videos on how to do BRF cakes and also make a fruiting chamber(SGFC)
also, take a look at this you're going to want to make a shot gun fruiting chamber exactly to tek specifications to fruit cakes.

no part of the tek? i broke one up just to see what it looked like in smaller parts im not really trying to fruit this stuff i just wanted to learn to tell the difference between cobweb mold and mycelium since i live in a moldy/cobweb ridden basement

sorry bud, being that you may not be comfortable with pasturizing or anything yet maybe just chuck it in a smaller container or even back in the jar and adding some verm on top

Cobweb looks way more needly and whispy also somewhat grey
the bright white part on the left is cubensis mycelium the rest is cobweb
same with this the bright white is mushroom the whispy stuff is cobweb.
Cobweb is sort of a misnomer here though. Most cultivators call any greyish to off white mold that's not mushroom mycelium cobweb. Any contams are bad and worthy of throwing out in this hobby so it's really not of any concern to discern the difference between the molds that look like 'cobwebs'
Here's the real info on cobweb if you're concerned about nomenclature of what you really have going on.
all you want to know about cobweb and h2o2 treatments

looks like good mycelium. It might fruit, albeit poorly, without being in a proper fruiting environment. Your best bet would be pasteurizing some bulk substrate and mixing the cakes in with it which may not be something you're ready to take on(it's not as hard as it looks though) otherwise you could try putting them in a tray and putting that into a SGFC.

How to do BRF cakes
The videos on how to do BRF cakes and also make a fruiting chamber(SGFC)
also, take a look at this you're going to want to make a shot gun fruiting chamber exactly to tek specifications to fruit cakes.
SGFC (shot gun fruiting chamber) IE how to fruit mushrooms, use a fruiting chamber. SGFC is the best method for BRF cakes. The 2nd and 3rd link have info to describe how to make one
Pasteurization, for mycologists, is holding a bulk substrate(coir or hpoo usually) at 140-160F for 60-90minutes. read here
