Semi-Automated Pasteurizer
    #19266459 - 12/12/13 03:40 PM (10 years, 1 month ago)

Larynx's Automated Temp Controller

Larynex's finish version

GOT THE IDEA FROM ABOVE LINK

STC-1000 WIRING DIAGRAM

GREAT VIDEO ON SETUP

MODDED LIDS

ELECTRICAL TAPE OVER HOLE TO TRAP MOISTURE IN AND OUT

I USE NORMAL LIDS INSTEAD OF FOIL BUT FOIL WILL WORK LIKE HERE

GHETTO RIGGED ATM
"TEMPS NEVER WENT OVER 73.6C - 164.4F ON ALL 5 RUNS USING SAME WATER IN POT"

NOTES: Turn Hot Plate on medium til you reach 37.7C = 100F then turn down to warm STC-1000 will turn off stove itself once you hit desired temp i set mine to 64.4C = 148F off and 62.7C = 145F back on. though so far on observation temps never went of 72.7C = 163F and STC-1000 never had to turn back on during the 60 min cycle.

also temps will very from Hotplate to Hotplate so you will have to dial in according to your equipment/tools. which isn't hard.

this would work with the sterilization process as well with a timer? once 15psi is reached?

A pressure cooker at 15psi gets water around 250°, depending on altitude.

Ahhh man this seems really promising! I unfortunitly have a gas stove as well but honestly wouldn't mind spending some on building that box and getting a decent little hot plate to be able to do this away from the stove and comfortably be able to pay less attention to temps during that process or especially multiple runs...

Not to sure how both a hot and cold option would do this or even brewing any use... I'm no electrician but could both of the plugs be run on a functional just "hot"? Seems like that would be of more use if you wanted to maybe run 2 separate pasteurizations at the same time. Just a thought

correct Pasteurization. 62.7C - 73.8C is not Sterilization but Pasteurization. the question was could it sterilize and the answer was, NO.

Thanks forgot to mention i never hooked the cooled is up but will be making one of the for my shroomhut for temp control in there. also it only has one probe you'd need more then one unit to do more at once. hope to get me a barrel. put it on its side. then cut a hole on top. add a few hot water elements to it then rig something to hold the bags to where the water is half up them to not touch the hot water elements. should be able to do a lot then.
