Mugwort: Dream Potentiator

Hey shroomery! I have very little experience with growing mushrooms but I have been growing plants for a while and I have a pretty decent green thumb. Anyway I wanted to give back to the forum so I figured I'd share some info on Mugwort a lesser known dream potentiator I grow.
Mugwort

Cultivation: Mugwort is basically a weed where I live. You can find it everywhere if your looking for it! It is almost impossible to kill. The plant shown in the picture was taken from a field almost a year ago. I have harvested neglected and abused this plant dramatically and it always comes back. At one point it only had 4 partially dried leaves left and I simply watered it and It was back to full health in another week. Growing this plant is kind of unnecessary as I could harvest lbs of it around my area but it's a nice little addition to my garden and it is literally the easiest plant to grow so why not? The leaves have a very distinct piney smell and it is said that just smelling the leaves while you are asleep can give you vivid dreams.
Uses: Mugwort can be made into a tea or smoked. The taste isn't as great as you would think from the smell but it's not unbearable! (Plus for you ladies out there it is supposed to help ease PMS symptoms so there's another plus!) It increases dream's vividness and could help with recall. If you are interested in increasing dream recall I would suggest taking vitamin B6 it has greatly helped me.
Mugwort contains thujone an active ingredient in absinthe with possible psychoactive properties. Few studies and little information is truly known about the effects of thujone.
WARNING: High doses of thujone can be toxic!
Mugwort has also been used in acupuncture and traditional Japanese rice cakes.

Nice post! I have to say that Mugwort gives me horrid hangovers and makes me really spacey. I saw some research back that it hits cannabinoid receptors in the brain, which is why it is responsible for some short-term memory anomalities.
Made into a tea, or smoked as a jay right before bed + keeping some loose leaf close to your pillow as you sleep=amazing technicolor dreams. Top notch dreaming. I have also found that eating some stilton cheese right before going to bed on an empty stomach with some crackers gives just as top notch dreams (the amino acid tyramine is suspected to be the cause of this). I find that mugwort "takes it out of me" the second half of the next day, but I do wake up feeling like a million bucks.

The only time i experimented with this was a couple years ago. Like you said it grows almost everywhere around here. I wrapped it similarly to white sage and burned it in my room as incense. I remember my dreams being more vivid.

Unfortunately that information is outdated. Scientist in the 70's claimed it did but we have now discovered it does not. However "Thujone acts on GABA and 5-HT3 receptors[4] in the brain. In many countries the amount of thujone allowed in food or drink products is regulated." - Wikipedia

That sounds like a cool experiment might try that sometime! I bet it actually smells pretty good!

I've used it just having some dried leaves next to my pillow at night and it really did seem to help with dream recall. It's hard to say for sure about something like that, but my experience with it was positive. Never tried it as a tea or smoke though.
