Drying/Liquid culture questions

Hey, everyone. So i spent about 12 hours yesterday reading threads about drying techniques. Yet, after all those hours of research i have yet to come to any form of conclusive answer to support any claim of drying. SO i have a bunch of questions.
The whole heat debate i am going to ignore. I did research and not a single claim was supported with any form of real factual evidence to support that heat destroys the potency (under 180 degrees F). So my questions are these;
1. My oven has the lowest temp of 175 degrees. If i were to put them in the oven at 175 with the door open and a fan blowing on them. will this suffice? If it will. About how long will it take to dry them?
2. Even with the oven should i still fan dry them for a couple hours before hand? I hear oxidation destroys the potency so i am just curious if it is smart to have a fan blow on them for 12-24 hours?
3. Exactly how should i prepare them to be dried. Some say to split open the stalks and this will assist in the drying process. Some say to just leave them the way they are. I am just curious on what would be the best tech.
Now onto my Liquid culture questions.
I just knocked up two liquid culture jars with 2ccs (each) of Mazatapecs. Curious on the time frames of when i can use the LC to knock up some jars.
So in short...
1. Oven drying with fan on them time frame 2. Should i fan dry them before oven or should i just stick them in the oven. 3. How should i prepare the mushrooms for drying 4. How long does it take for LC to be ready to be used.

1. Using a baseboard space heater and a vortex style fan takes me 36 hours to cracker dry.It should do ok. Look for severe bruising during the dry. SOME bruising is normal, but, if bruising is severe and persists you are degrading potency, turn down your heat. Ovens are notoriously inaccurate on low temps.
2&3. Just clean and stick em in.
4. Never used a LC so dont know.

How I dry. Baseboard heat 1 foot below a wicker basket with a vortex style fan blowing on them on medium in a sunny window. Works great, no excess bruising.

fan dry first, then you can chuck them in the oven with the door open fan on and it will only take a few minutes, nif the stove scares you and you don't have much you can also fan dry then chuck them in the crisper in your fridge overnight

Yea i am more worried about oxidation. Just seems that putting them next to a fan is adding unwanted and un-needed oxidation. I did a test run with them in the oven at 175 degrees with a fan blowing on them. Took about 2 hours but lost no potency.

Yea, i did get a tad but more bruising then i would have enjoyed. I think fan drying them for a couple hours before hand and then putting them into the oven would do the trick.

I have a strange liquid culture question I can't seem to find an answer to. If you were to use mad honey for your LC would it have any effect on the mushrooms you grow from it? Would they contain grayanotoxins?

How can you accurately gauge something has lost potency? Perhaps its noticeable to percieve a near complete loss of potency but it be hard to know without analysis. Maybe just buy a dehydrator for 20$ or even less...set it and forget it. Otherwise I've used a fan for 48 hours then transferred to a Tupperware with desiccant lined with a paper towel.

Once again, other growers have proven that temps do not degrade the potency. If one can be deep fried and still be active then your fine.

I did this once to prove a point to my friends. Battered and deep fried a bunch of cubes and we ate them with beer watching a hockey game. Before the game was over we were so fucked up we couldn't stay and watch the rest. We had to adventure.
Heat saves potency if anything by drying them out faster.

My concern is digestion issues. Like was nausea worse eating battered and fried cubes?
