How am I doing.

I have started my garden and choose PE as my first project. I know its not recommended for beginners, but I think its turning out ok. I have my first shroom popping and a possible second. I am seeing the root like fingers and have been since the third day in the terrarium and I mist and fan every time I look at them. I have a lite that I have been running 12/12. I am noticing on a few cakes that are not producing fruit are a little black and its got me worried. I appreciate and advice or tips you can give.

Go get some coir and case them if you want anything ....at least thats what I've been reading for PE seems to be the main deciding factor.

PE is psilocybe cubensis...P. Cubensis is definitely recommended for beginners. therefore...PE is just fine for beginners...it's growth parameters are no different from any other cube... have fun and good luck.

Having trouble putting pics on this thread. But I have uploaded several. The first shroom is about a half of a inch now and growing the second fruit is little but is definitely growing too. The other three cakes are making me sad. Lol

PE's are very slow. But on the upside they are very large and extremely potent. Did you let the cakes consolidate for a week or so after the jars were at 100%? Also, in looking at your fruiting chamber, I cannot see any holes in the sides.

Yes, lots of holes, and I did let them set for an extra week. It was accidental cause I was on Vacation. I was worried at the time they was going to spend too much time in there.

Well all my cakes have growth now and I am so happy. Since they are growing at different speeds do I harvest each fruit as it is ready or do I wait for a full flush?

After all my damn monos Im starting to question this myself,
I have been doing by maturity, but I feel opening and closing the lids and the time spent chopping is degrading the humidity, the other thing is,
when I did a full wall to wall harvest, I immediatley soaked for twelve hours,
twelve hours later the whole tub had covered in white fluffy mycellium over all the stumps again, though when I harvested over time, than soaked, it didnt seem to fluff over that well.

I don't think he"s talking about soaking the mushies before drying.

He's talking about soaking/dunking his sub/cakes inbetween flushes. After harvest, just put your mushies in front of a fan or in a dehydrator. Or you COULD soak them in some hot water from your kettle!

I figured it was self evident that I ment AFTER you've plucked every last piece of growth to soak, not before.

Ok. My first harvest was just one and it weighed 47.2 grams fresh and 5 grams after I dryed it. I dunked the cake for 24 hours and no new growth after 2 days. I have 9 more growing from the other 4 cakes and I will be harvesting another tonight.
