hiding stuff from the land lord
    #19264349 - 12/12/13 05:17 AM (10 years, 1 month ago)

so he told me he is showing my duplex to a buyer, mind you i live alone in a big one bedroom apt, so hiding 30 tubs 16 fruiting the other colonizing was quite a feat not to mention all my spawn jars etc.  8 hours later i think ive got it all put away.

i got shit in the oven, cabinets, bathtub with shower curtain drawn, closet with clothes piled around the colonizing tubs, under the bed etc etc.

wish me luck.

You dont think the buyer is gonna wanna check out the tubs an see inside the oven an cabinets? I sure would. But yah let us know how it goes!

I think you should hide in plain sight, take them all out and pretend they're shiitake. If you believe it then they will too.

Any of the three would do. Most people don't know how legal/1llegal shrooms grow anyway.

In all my renting years even for shitty 300$ rooms everybody checks the shower and opens cabinet doors etc... It's going to look suspicious having them being hidden. Most people don't know anything about mushrooms and where they come from so just leave em out and say that they're edibles.

I wouldnt leave them out , I would cover and if they happen to find them just say its part of the night cycle or some bullshit and that they are like edibles

Yeah no need to get rid of them. A little prison never hurt anyone. I think you're nuts for even considering letting strangers inspect your home with 30 tubs sitting around

Dude please listen to the advice here...they will most certainly look in the shower. Just stack them up and cover them with a sheet, if they ask what it is tell them its none of their business. They wont try to look behind the sheet.

Im still on the side of the Uhaul.  You can get one here for $20 plus like .20 a mile.  Just rent one, load it up, they come, leave, unload it.  Better than any interaction about it.

im suprised no one mentioned this yet.
go out and buy wrapping paper.  wrap em up and they are xmas presents.

that or even a sheet and say they are xmas presents and you were gonna have friends or family over later and didnt want them to see.

but i think wrapping paper would be key.  its less than 2 weeks from xmas for cryin out loud!

id proly go that route any time of the year also honestly.  granted much better this time of year, but you could say anything about a bunch of gift wrapped presents.  having a family reunion coming up and everyone exchanges gifts then instead of xmas time.  or your traveling to a relatives and their birthday is coming up and all your local relatives are sending you up with thier gifts.

or your involved in some charity organization that gives bday presents to people or kids in hospitals all around the area and this is your month to get the gifts, etc. involved in some kind of auction where people buy raffles for mystery items....and so on
id gather people wouldnt even really ask about a bunch of gifts wrapped up any time of year anyway.

if funds are an issue, its not hard to find a cardboard dumpster with tons of boxes in them.  or just ask a store if you can get some before they even throw in the garbage as its just less crap they have to carry out to the dumpster...

I'd make it look like storage with a sheet over it, or like someone said stack them maybe throw a piece of plywood over, and then a fat sheet to make it look like a table! Definitely walkthrough with them and DO NOT allow them to snoop! Tell them if they're going to inspect all the details you need a written 48 hour notice, this is JUST a walkthrough. Look, don't touch.

you can just rent an indoor storage for a few months, keep your tubs in their.
Mono tubs just right don't need constant attention.

Use a few battery systems and hook up Fan / lights , on timer switches.
And check on it 3 - 4 times a week.

I'm glad you were safe too man (: My landlord likes to snoop sometimes but tbh I'd throw everything on the back roof if he came, might suck but in my small place things are easy to find. Glad I got a lock on my closet just incase anything does happen though

If I were looking through a potential apartment I would definitely want to see the bathtub and inside the cabinets. Don't you have a crawl space under your roof?  Usually there is a recessed square in one of the bedrooms where you can open it to get up into the rafters / insulation.

haha man, you dodged the bullet, but your "hiding set up" look awkward as hell, you landord is prbly thinking what the hell this guy is hiding behind that cluster fuck :tongue2:

I like the idea to get yourself a set of cardboard boxes, so you can dump the monos there and make it look like is some sort of storage, or if not uhaul...
