Hygrocybe aurantipes?
    #19263898 - 12/12/13 01:00 AM (10 years, 2 months ago)

Can anyone confirm this species?  It looks to me like some sort of Hygrocybe, possibly Hygrocybe aurantipes?  The only problem with this ID is that it was found on one of the Gulf Islands of Vancouver Island, BC - Hygrocybe aurantipes is a very rare Hygrocybe not found in North America.

Any help on this ID is appreciated!

Consider Phylloporus species. Possibly related to Phylloporus rhodoxanthus, they start out with a dark cap.

It does look very much like Phylloporus rhodoxanthus (shown below).

Thanks for the ID!
