Steam Pasteurization.. A few Q's

Say your using this set-up
Wagner 705 into 50 gal tub (heavy duty, huge storage tub)
I've seen the teks and it looks effective..I agree that the Cpvc should be used and that a hole or 2 around the top to regulate too high temps might need drilled but besides this I think its good to go.
Couple questions.
I haven't really heard of anyone using steam for Coir/Verm/gypsum.
Is there a reason or does everyone just use the bucket tek when doing coir because its so easy and coir is pretty contam resistant?
.... Anyway if you wanted to steam pasteurize coir what would you put it in...
pillow case plastic bags burlap...???

pc.. to pasteurize? You mean running the steam from a pc into the tub?
I don't see why the core wouldn't get up to temp. Those setups get to 170 F no problem and pretty much stay there as long as you keep the steam coming.

Yes, that's a great tek. been through it many times but didn't know it was updated with a filter patch bag. very cool :o
I know the filter patch bags aren't cheap, does anyone know another option for steam pasteurizing coir?
Anyone use non filtered plastic bags for steam and coir?
pillow case?...burlap?... thoughts...

maybe worth a try. The filter patch bags are cheaper than I was thinking though. Wander how much you can fit into one of those large filter patch bags like in franks tek before its too bulky for the core?
I wonder if you can fill them into different shapes... like skinnier and longer for more even temps?
Anyone have experience with this?

out grow sells filter patch bags in multiple sizes. Small Medium and Large. I only have experience with the large ones and they do fine. I PC for 2 1/2 hours.
