If mandela was white and had done all of the exact same things, the media would have ignored him. The media is the racist one, not mandela's detractors. Mandela was a terrorist and his anc party committed acts as bad as the nazis did. Don't even get me started on winnie. NM was just a politician, thats all. As big a phony as obama who the media loves as well.

Margaret Thatcher sided with some pretty sinister folk in retrospect. She supported Augusto Pinochet, Saddam Hussein, the Khmer Rouge, Muammar Qaddafi, the Shah of Iran Mohammed Reza Pahlavi, Hasni Mubarak and Indonesia's Suharto. Suharto was responsible for the deaths of millions. She also referred to Mandela as a terrorist and supported Apartheid.

Other than crushing the British unions, most of what she did was pretty terrible.

Mandela on the other hand was a pretty great guy.

:gump:

If...if....if....well, if a bullfrog had wings its ass wouldn't drag on the ground when it walked.  But your nonsense statement about Pearl harbor is so far off the mark its ridiculous.  my statement had nothing to do with pearl harbor.

my statement was an observation that the president of the US can go kiss the ass of a black socialist leader who I did give credit too for his war on apartheid, but, a leader who nonetheless who was part of, and condoned the actions of a wretched, violent movement--the ANC, who committed any number of heinous crimes against humanity.  But I guess that is alright since he is black and a socialist.

yet when margaret thatcher died--who was a staunch supporter of US policy, and a key ally of the uS for many years, Obama didn't even send the whitehouse shoe shine boy as a token gesture of respect.  That's disgusting, vile behavior for a president of the US against an ally.

Why?  because someday the US might need a strong ally and they won't find one because they remember the asshole who flipped them the bird because he was an arrogant, anti-colonial socialist who hates western powers.

Tact and diplomacy require the president to maintain a perception of strong support for allies that helped us in the past.  It is also very classy for a president to show GRATITUDE for things other countries have done, whether he agrees with them or not.

Oh, but rememer what Stalin said:  "gratitude is for dogs"

Progressives haven't an inkling of the shittiness of president Obama--a classless, tacky shit ass sociailist bum.

and this is no different than the US president sending money to aid other countries or create industry in war torn middle east while people here are losing their homes and and their asses because the economy is bankrupt.

Actually the flags were half-staff from sunrise on the 6th to sunset on the 9th for Mandela.  Pearl Harbor half-staff is only on the 7th, as far as I know.

What punishment would you suggest for those who enforce apartheid besides necklacing? Proportional to to a death sentence carried out as 27 year imprisonment (which largely involved slave labor and abuse) for conspiracy and sabotage that is.

Zappa supports apartheid.  He would sentance people with his same views to the queen of England.  He hates blacks, gays, muslims, and any sort of minorities that exist.  He hates Obama because he was born by a poor woman who left her parents to care for him, yet loves his own children to be born to a multimillionaire who pays for every expense they have ever had.

Most leaders do side with unscrupulous characters, then again how easy is a choice between two evils? For every puppet backed there's a nastier bastard kept in line by proxy. Usually. Sometimes there's just bad calls

Exactly.

It is astonishing to me how many posters don't yet grasp this obvious fact of existence - often in life humans must decide between two (or more) bad alternatives. There will be countless times in anyone's lifetime when the choice is not between "good" and "bad" but between "bad" and "really bad".

Amen

>What punishment would you suggest for those who enforce apartheid besides necklacing?

This is the kind of idiocy we get from liberals. There were some excesses under apartheid just as there are excesses today in usa under our moronic policies. To say murder and torture is just for those who supported the system which had been in place for many years is throwing stones while living in glass houses. Perhaps if someone disagrees with your support of some policy you will gladly take a necklace?

Mandela was a terrorist thug and it was the worst kind of sniveling for obuma to run over there and pay tribute to the thug. As has been pointed out, he snubbed thatcher's funeral because she was white. I would shit on mandela's grave but that would make him a better person to absorb some honest shit.

Apartheid supporters were generally not the ones necklaced.  If you want to have a trial and give somebody the death sentence, I'm down with it.  I don't think it is de facto either cruel or unusual to execute criminals.  Necklacing seems to be cruel a bit.  Mobs seem to be an inappropriate judiciary.  Process is important.
