First time growing and I may have a problem. I have a red spot on the cap of the beginnings of a fruit body. Is this a contamination? What should I do if it is?

What are you growing them in, what kind of pan is that? It almost looks like some of the redness/rust that just fell on top. I've also never seen any contam like that. Wait for a more experienced cultivator to chime in.
I'm also curious if you cased these, because it doesn't look 100% colonized.

Wow, that's a lot of rust. Are you spraying with peroxide, or did you just pick the tray most likely to harbor clostridium?
It does look like a piece of rust fell on the cap of that mushroom. Can we get a closer look?

Yes I know that's a lot of rust, they were new when I bought them and now I realize that metal is not the way to go. I have just been spraying with water. I will post a close up as soon as I can, thanks all.

This is the best pic I can get, they are still very small. Your insight is very helpful for my first grow.
