First time growing. Am I doing this right? / is this normal?

Hi All,
I am new and have just birthed my first BRF cakes! I did 5 in total but one grew green mold when it was around 85% colonized!! Just wanting to make sure I am not missing anything or doing anything wrongly!
It took around 19 days to get to 100% and then I left them for a week.
I birthed them and gave them a nice, submerged, cool water bath for 24 hours.
I rolled all cakes in some verm afterwards and let them sit for a little while before putting them in my terrarium then gave them a good mist.
I have 2 6500k, daylight white CFL's on either side of my terrarium which I have on 12 hours on 12 hours off.
I mist 4 times a day and fan around 6.
They have been in there for 3 days now and they are getting really fuzzy, one more than so.

Is this normal? Think they could of done a few extra days in the jars?
Any guidance is greatly appreciated!
Cheers, DD

The fuzziness could be because lack of fresh air exchange. Have you drilled holes on all 6 sides of your fruiting chamber? Have you elevated the fruiting chamber to allow cold air to be sucked up through the bottom holes?
Might not be a problem at all... I've had this happen and my cakes fruited just fine.
I think you'll see the fuzz knot up soon and you'll see pins form.

I was thinking it might be FAE, I followed roger rabits building of a shotgun terrarium, holes drilled on all 6 sides. I have used bottle lids to raise it, they are about the same height that it would be if I used my jar rings.
I am a bit nervous my lights are too close? They are about 2 foot away. When I seem to mist by the time I go back there is no water on the sides of the terrarium? I am constantly getting its at 99% humidity though.

Light doesn't need to be that close, but shouldn't be much of a problem if it isn't generating much heat.
Water droplets should be evaporating, especially from the substrate, as it triggers mushrooms to start growing.
I see your hygrometer is directly on the perlite, that could be reading a much higher relative humidity compared to other areas in your fruiting chamber. Try suspending your hygrometer at the same level as the top of your cakes. Should give you a more accurate reading. (I'm actually shocked your hygrometer is reading 99%... mine usually crap out after a week of use rendering them innacurate.)
Hope this helps. I still maintain that you should remain positive and still confident in the days to come. You're going to see mushrooms soon enough.

It's going as normal. Don't worry.

You want it raised higher than that. 3-4 inches is about right.

You don't need your cakes raised, you just need them to not directly contact the perlite. Also, throw the hygrometer away. It's useless.

I was talking about the chamber, not the cakes.

Sorry, misread that.
Yeah, OP, your FC needs to be raised at least an inch.
